Software News   Software News : AmiStart 0.66 Beta for OS4!
posted by PEB on 27-Sep-2005 23:10:27 (3575 reads)
Darius Brewka is looking for OS4 betatesters for version 0.66 of his StartBar utility, "AmiStart."

You can look at his website: http://people.freenet.de/dariusb/amiga/amistart/main.html

But you must e-mail him (d DOT brewka AT freenet DOT de) to obtain the OS4 beta version.

Even if you are not a fan of StartBars, this is an excellent utility with an amazing amount of configuring/customizing possibilities.

Please help support Darius and help him bringing AmiStart to OS4.

I used Amistart on my a4000 and now i installed it on A1. Works great.
Nice features and makes my amiga look like i want it, great. I run it today and seems to work ok. I got a grim once but thats why we are here. To test and send in bugreports. This is the startbar of my choice. And my windows will feel better. But then its more good looking then theirs :)

So if you have os4 and like to help making these wonderfull piece of software to work as good as possible please contact Darius.

I know not of this utility. I might be interested to test this new AOS4 beta. Is this something like the "dark side" start bar on the window bottom?

Maybe there is a screen shot. I should look.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

@Moxxee

Yes, that is exactly what it is.

I used to use this on my A3000 CSPPC setup, then in WinUAE on the PC after the CSPPC card died. Haven't loaded it here yet, because I have simply become accustomed to AmiDock.

But I do remember it was VERY configurable. Worked well for what it does.

Yes, it's a great piece of software - highly configurable and fully supporting a number of modern APIs.

Yes, I suppose I have also. Except that I do not like how large AmiDock looks. It seems way out of proportion to the rest of the screen.

Everyone gives glowing remarks for this software. It must be good.

Goodness, it looks like a woman's navel and lacey underware.

How far does this software go?

Heh, I tried to explain to my wife that I was just checking out a piece of software, but she wasn't buying it.
