Get this man a donate button! It really is great that so many coders are enthusiastic about our platform! Love you guys!

Now, all I need is a big enough bank balance to contribute to every author whose program I use, gotta keep their creative juices fueled...

@ haymigga

Without wanting to brake your excitement, but you got it that it's 'just' a pps viewer, not
a pps editor, did you?

He knows that, he can develop it on a PC, then show it using an Amiga

I'm not the only one to get these then! Why don't people just send the images for Glod's sake??

@Voodoo

I don't think so. I'm a friend of Mathias and I was at Alchimie 5.I believe that there will be no port because of an issue with SDL port on OS 3 (not sure though).

Hi all !

Haymigga : Sorry, it won't be ready for the next week. And I have to say the support is not complete at the moment (no sound, no transition, no drawings, ...). In a first time, it will be good for common files but not complete enough for complicated presentations.

Cyborg : An editor is not planned but I will provide an import module for Hollywood. A first contact with the author let me know that we will work together. This week-end, I saw a really nice presentation made with Hollywood and it was really smooth ! The effects
are much better than PowerPoint ones.

Jerryuk007 : About other formats, I won't focus on Excel (we don't have a serious spreadsheet) but the Word support will benefit from the work done on the PowerPoint viewer. I have to say the beginning of my knowledge on these formats comes from the time I worked on my text converter called WoW.

Kicko : Antiword is not a viewer but it extracts text from Word documents. I suppose I would be possible to obtain better results with Word documents in a near future.

VooDoo : A 68k version was not planned for various reasons : I think it's time to focus on PowerPC targets and from a technical overview, the SDL_ttf module doesn't seem to exist for 68k. As people seem to ask for a 68k, it could happen but it's not a priority.

Severin : I love Pink Floyd and this picture is great ! I send it to you thanks to your profile.

All : Thank you for your enthousiasm but that's too early to talk about paiement. PointRider will certainly be a giftware ... I find this fun ! And if people can't send anything (or doesn't want to), that's not a problem, consider it as a freeware. I will decide later ...

It's no big issue to have smoother effects better than PP.

Most presentation progs do have smoother effects:

*SCALA does have the best ones
*the same goes for Hollywood
*Coral Presenter is much smoother
*OpenOffice Presenter too, it even generates usable HTML pages with rerendered images and antialised fonts which PP can't really do.
* Keynote on Macs does simply look very professional and the effects rulz!

BTW PowerPoint isn't even an invention by MS, but they did bought the ready product from another company, like most of their products!
