@TMTisFree
Good, it hasn't been tested in Symbian OS yet

Anyone know what browser Symbian OS uses?

I've tested the site on Palm OS using Palm OS Simulator with Web Browser 2.0 at 320x480, and on PocketPC with Pocket IE using my XDA IIi at 240x320

http://pda.amigaworld.net works with AWeb on an AmigaOne too.

Just looks a bit strange.

Cheers,
Tim

@all

if you can take photos or snapshots of the site on your mobile device please post them here, if you have no where to host the images please upload them to the 'Site design ideas' section of the OS4 Image Album.

Nokia 6680 has Symbian and I tried the page with the built in browser and with Opera and it seems like it works without any problems with both browsers.

Best I could do so quickly...

This is on my Sony Ericsson P910i using Opera, which comes free with the phone (but has to be installed by the user)...

Very nice work, BTW, Davey. The pda version doesn't look any better than the normal site under Opera, but the layout ends up being a bit more sensible and it loads much faster.

Apologies for spamming the thread with three posts, but inline images seem to play havoc with the positioning of text.

And I need to boost my post count to get a more important sounding description...

Heh, that's cool!

(When I first saw the small picture I first thought for a moment that this is OS4 running on a PDA )

(...searches through 'phone manual...)

The P910 screen is 208x320. This is fixed. I wouldn't worry too much about text or graphic sizes as the browsers are quite good at automatically scaling things down.

Both browsers also have a scrolling mode where the site will render at its normal (or an assumed default) resolution, but this mode is such a pain in the ar*e that nobody in their right mind ever uses it unless they have to.

The UIQ browser produces pages very similar to your screenshots. Opera uses more sophisticated dynamic reformatting for the small screen so it looks a bit different (very similar to the way it renders the "normal" page). Either way, it's readable and useable.

Excellent work.

**Edit: Replaced incorrect "it's" with its. This is the sort of mistake that used to drive me mental when I was an A-Level tutor. I hang my head in shame...**

Probably Microsoft's best OS todate, small footprint and fast, just like OS4

my only problem now is when people post long urls in the forums, because they dont wrap, so this causes horizontal scrolling on a small screen.

It looks great on my Palm Tungsten|C.

However, the Post Comment and Reply buttons are missing.
