| ssolie, you never DO stop coding, do ya?
Everyone else, this appears to be ported back into the main expat project, not 'just' a standalone build: Quote:

Way to go! (Heh, and I likely actually have a need for it not too far off!

The news is more that AmigaOS has been mentioned on the front page of the Expat home page. Expat is already pretty much platform agnostic but I went just a little bit further and put my name down to maintain the Amiga-specific changes. The Expat team and I hammered out the details of the release over the Christmas break.
If anyone wants to contribute to the Amiga-specific version, please contact me and I'll see about including your changes in the Expat CVS. _________________ ExecSG Team Lead

I know there has been a trend to make Amiga-specific version numbers, for ports, but wouldn't it be better (or at least more future safe) to use the "real" version number... so for this one, it would be: Major=2 Minor=0.0
This is just my opinion _________________ Best regards, hnl_dk - Henning Nielsen Lund [Denmark]

I assume you are talking about the shared library (expat.library) versioning here.
I think it is best to treat the shared library version independently from whatever package you are using as a baseline. This is the same as suffixing a static link library with -1 or -ssolie1 or whatever. You need to version control it because your particular platform may have fixes ahead of the current baseline. Besides, the only people you are confusing are the developers because the users just know they are using expat.library 4.2 and they don't care if it is based on Expat 2.0.0 but the developers sure do. Developers should be smart enough to figure it out. _________________ ExecSG Team Lead

But not everyone wants to use the extra time to figure out Would be nice if there the could be some sort of double versioning, where it would be possible to get the Amiga version number, and the baseline version... This is not get complicated _________________ Best regards, hnl_dk - Henning Nielsen Lund [Denmark]
