Software News   Software News : Some software updates
   posted by hnl_dk on 3-Feb-2006 21:42:51 (1945 reads)
I have updated the following tools, so they understand both *nix and absolute Amiga style paths:

awk - the text processing language
m4 - Unix macro processor
coreutils - GNU core utilities
Yacc - Yet another compiler-compiler

Please download them from OS4depot.net or aminet.net

For comments on the port and possible bugfixes, please send an email to me.

Best regards,
hnl_dk - Henning Nielsen Lund

This is cool. Using one tool for both styles of path is very handy.

Good work,
Bean.

Speaking for myself- I do not appreciate all the work people put in
to all these programs as a user.

I certainly am glad for all your hard work.

Thanks

Cap

Hi hnl_dk:
Please tell us: what is your "big goal" ?
I mean: these tools are useful for porting something "big" ?
Is there something in the pipeline, we should know about ?

@_PAB_

my big goal is that we get a "complete" SDK... and that people are able to do their porting, without needing to use lots of time figuring out how they need to make their own makefiles for the projects they port (should only be needed for the things they develop themselves).

I just think that these tools (and some other stuff is what is needed at the beginning)... I have some other stuff that I have in the pipeline, that I want to do when done with the "build tools", but the time is not right to tell about them
