| Great job! Just tried it out and it works pretty good. I know it is an early version, but one thing I noticed is that when drawing something you really have no reference for where exactly it is going to be layed down. It would be nice to have a ghosted object of some sort that would let you know what you are drawing.
It would be nice to have more shapes to work with and arrows on the end of lines. Just tried it out though so perhaps I just dont know what I am doing with it quite yet. I like it though. |

| @nzv58l Ghosted outlines: done (not in released version), but slows down the interface, especially on 68k, so I need to have a rethink about this.
Arrows on lines/connectors also done, but are really rubbish, especially when lines are at steep angles. Again, a rewrite is needed before included for release.
More shapes: future versions will include shapes for UML diagrams, flowcharts, Cisco-type stuff etc.
I'm almost ready to think about adding menus and keyboard shortcuts too now. _________________ Happiness is mandatory. MindSpace: MindMaps and UML diagrams for OS4

Downloaded and took a quick look. This looks like it's off to a good start! I look forward to seeing future releases, and perhaps an export to JPG or other 'standard' format image for the graphing capacilibites..? _________________ Are we not done with the same silly arguments and flames yet??!

Yep. Free version will export .iff files. Full version (whopping 15 euros) will use datatypes.
atm I use SGrab which is almost as quick anyway! _________________ Happiness is mandatory. MindSpace: MindMaps and UML diagrams for OS4

| @yoodoo2 Being a heavy user of ABC FlowCharter, Visio, Rational Rose, et al. over the years I hope your project does not end up like they did. Basically, they took a really great design visualization tool and tried to make it into a programmer replacement tool. I used to love Visio (pre-M$ version) until they started to lock everything down and generate code with it. I could visualize anything I wanted, drag anything I wanted, change anything I wanted. Then came the code generation features... that's when things went downhill. Can't do this or that because it will break codegen. Argh!
I know some people are really into the idea that you can draw UML diagrams and spit out code but that just isn't interesting to me as a designer. It is fun to spit out code but that shouldn't be the focus of the tool IMHO. The focus should be on enabling the designer and not shackling the designer for the sake of codegen alone.
I guess the point I'm trying to make here is I hope your tool will never sacrifice flexibility for the sake of codegen. We have enough crappy tools that do this already.
P.S. Great work! This project is shaping up nicely. _________________ ExecSG Team Lead

| Some good points made.
tbh the project started off as a tool to create MindMaps to help write essays, plan revision etc and wasn't initially targetted at developers. Basically I saw some of the commercial MindMapping stuff for Windows and thought I could ape them for OS4. I needed a largish project to have a go at for my first Amiga app and saw a gap.
Then I needed a UML tool for univerisity so began to consider additional functionality. The code generating stuff is a long way off yet and will be quite basic, if only because I doubt my code is good enough to exhibit as templates for other projects! MindSpace will stay as a predominantly visual tool for producing silly pictures and diagrams _________________ Happiness is mandatory. MindSpace: MindMaps and UML diagrams for OS4

| @yoodoo2,
This app is coming along nicely. Good work.
There is one feature that I do miss though, and that is to be able to see the changes as soon as you move and resize objects.
Cheers, Bean. _________________ OS4.1 + SAM Flex RIP my A1XE.. that used to have an appetite for batteries!

Sadly not. It is likely that eventually MindSpace will import .wmf files, so that could be a possible route to compatability in the future. _________________ Happiness is mandatory. MindSpace: MindMaps and UML diagrams for OS4
