hardware OS4   hardware OS4 : OS4 AmiGBG 2005 Demo released
   posted by shoe on 7-Feb-2006 19:37:30 (2135 reads)
Not sure this qualifies as news, but we finally managed to get the OS4 Warp3D demo that was shown under the interview with Mikael Kalms and Robert Kihl at AmiGBG 2005 packed and released today. It will show up on OS4Depot.net later, but until then you can get it from here.

And heads up, more AmiGBG news coming up ...

Good looking stuff! Too bad framerate on mA1/800 is terrible slow.. First scene is like 5FPS, but tunnels are smooth. Readme file says it needs A1XE, so I guess there's some issues with G3 at the moment.

@densho

It runs fine here on the uA1/800MHz. Maybe some other program has eaten your videomem, quit everything (or do a fresh boot) and try again.

A small tip for Update 4 installers...check the monitor icon. Add

INTERRUPT=YES

if it's not there. Gives ~14 FPS more after that.

@COBRA

Ah, that was it! I installed good ol' CloseWB from Aminet and hit alt+w after starting demo. Now it goes around 35FPS here which is a lot more than earlier. Thanks :)
