Software News   Software News : 'Crystal Clear' System Replacement Icon Set with Installer Released!
   posted by spotUP on 5-Mar-2006 18:21:51 (4594 reads)
'Crystal Clear' a System Replacement icon set for AmigaOS 4.0 is released!
It comes with an installer, just click it, and all your system icons are replaced. All icons from the original 'Crystal Clear' icon set are included though, so you can if you'd like to, install them by hand, and there plenty of nice icons for all your apps etc too. Have fun boys! Let that desktop sparkle!

You can get it now at OS4Depot

@spotUP

I like them but they are rather big I think (well on my 1024 x 768 display anyway), pity they weren't just a bit smaller. Good work though

i have a 21" screen here, so 64x64 is really a minimum for me. and the icons loose their detail in smaller sizes that 64x64 (well, atleast mac icons tend to loose their spark), but if everyone wants 48x48 icons, there is little point in releasing 64x64 bit sets... i'll do a poll and ask what people prefer...

does anyone know of a nice command line tool that resizes png images?

ImageMagick on OS4Depot.

convert icon.png -resize 48x48 icon48.png

I`ve written a GUI to do resizing with ImageMagick, but it does not do batch converting at this time.

That looks as if it could be useful too. Any chance of a release (date?)

Use the mogrify command to batch resize:

mogrify -resize 48x48! *.png

will resize and overwrite all png files in the current dir.

A small bug was reported with the first release of the icons, if you had problems with dosdrivers after installing the first release, replace your current dosdrivers with the ones from the Upd4 cd-rom. I have uploaded a new version (1.1) of the 64x64 icons in the meantime. Sorry for this.
