Software News   Software News : New software releases by OnyxSoft
   posted by Deniil715 on 15-Mar-2006 21:12:01 (4448 reads)
OnyxSoft is releasing two new programs and no less than six software updates! Have fun!

New programs

Macc v1.0 - (OS4) Mouse accelerator with a couple of settings.

ZoomIT v0.1 - (MOS,68k) Magnifying glass program using MUI.

Updated programs

AllKeys v1.2 - (OS4,MOS) Hotkey program supporting all multimedia-keys and mousebuttons. Now AllKeys finally lives up to its name: *ALL*keys. All 29 extra keys and the wheel on my keyboard works now (thanks to Hyperion), and the buttons and wheel on my mouse too. (The MOS version has not been updated but is still v1.1.)

ActivateWindow v1.2 - (68k) A program to activate and rearrange windows and screens. Very useful together with AllKeys. Now with some features allowing it to act on the active window or screen without specifying a name of it.

DigiConverter v1.3 - (68k) Developer tool to convert between decimal, bex, binary, float and ASCII. Added a function to read out keycodes; rawkeys and vanillakeys.

JoinSplitter v1.3 - (68k) Split and join files with a GUI. Now with some better header-skipping features.

DECH v1.47 - (68k) For all you people who actually (still) use this wierd little program on OS4, Deniil's E-Compiler Handler has been fixed to sends both messages and errors to the same output on OS4-upd4 again.

AmigaAMP-Prefs v1.2 - (68k) The prefs-editor for AmigaAMP has been localized and translated into German, Italian, Hungarian, French and Swedish.

Soon will big updates of MPlayer-GUI (when MPlayer is ready) and Annotate be released as well!

AllKeys really does recognize all of the special keys on my Logitech keyboard.

Great job.

Thanks for the updates

I've now got AllKeys set up with IBrowse, YAM, Calculator, RDesktop & AmigaAMP buttons as well as REXX control over AmigaAMP to Play, Stop, Next, Previous & Volume controls.

I've actually got unused keys now

I have a cordless Logitech mouse that has zillions of buttons. It has the usual 3 buttons, the middle of which is also a scroll wheel, the scroll wheel clicks left & right too, a "Media" button, Play/Pause, Up/Down, Next/Previous & 2 other buttons on the side. AllKeys now recognises all 3 main buttons, the scroll wheel & the 2 other buttons on the side. Now if you were able to read the other 8 buttons this mouse could become a very useful remote control. Monitor off, music playing... Nice

FuZion.

PS. Before anyone says it, no all those buttons aren't intrusive. They're quite small, flat & accidental pressings isn't an issue

My compliments! Specially for joinSplitter. It's the best of its kind.
I still prefer Lupe over ZoomIt, because it is much faster. Maybe the cause is MUI or unoptimized code?

This can accelerate the wheel also ?

If yes, it is a great thing...

Anyway, thanks for all your new releases and updates.

@all

Thankyou very much for you support!

I know, me too

About the mouse: I have one 8th mousebutton (6 and 7 are duplicates of the wheel) that is not recognized and I've tried to let all input-events be visible in AllKeys but there is no event send for that button and therefor probably not for all yours either

I have fixed so that a second wheel should be read now though, which in your case probably is the left/right clicks of the wheel. I only have one wheel though so I couldn't test it.

Thankyou
About ZoomIT (which is Stefan's program): You can set the refresh-rate in it. If you already have it set to the fastest it may be due to he using other (more system friendly?) screengrabbing functions and/or draw-functions. I don't think it's because of MUI.

Never though about that, but after some experiments I found out it can be accelerated too! MUI seems to ignore the acceleration though, but WB and ASL and my not-yet-release Annotate v2.4 sees the acceleration.

I will implement this in the next version

Allkeys is simply great for OS4! I have setup most of my buttons on my logitech keyboard now to do various tasks ;)

I wonder if you can take one of the buttons on the keyboard or mouse and make it translate into control+p for instance. Very handy if you're browsing for a file in a requester.

@Haymigga

Yes you can

I have LMB+5thMB translated into Ctrl+v = paste. I also have two very handy XKEYs (multimedia-keys) translated into Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v. I have also translated my 4thMB to LAmiga+m = screenswapping. (Screenswapping can also be made my executing "ActivateWindow SCREENTOBACK" in a hotkey.)

@Deniiiiiil

AllKeys: Working very nicely for assigning commands to a few keys (still some keys on my keyboard not working though). However, the TRANSLATE function seems to have broken - even translating "a" to "s" does not work. AllKeys grabs the "a" key event as expected, but does not output the "s" key event as it should. This happens with all translates, not just that silly example.

Any ideas?

@Denil

AllKeys was VERY usefull!
Only onr thing...
Some day would you like to release a version (maybe 2.0) with a complete GUI to config that?
With some action just defined an so on...
That would be a MUST!

Tuxedo.

@Chris_Y

There seems to be s bug: TRANSLATE requires the clsss to be explicitly set:
(he, I can't write s, I mean lowercase A )

TRANSLATE=$80000021,RAWKEY

It should default to RAWKEY but apparently it doesn't...

Yes, that is planned for the next version. Or perhaps the very next version which will be release very soon, but later...

@Deniil715

I don't suppose you know if it's possible to have a 'smart' function assigned to a key. To elaborate: My 'Play' key on my keyboard has a 'Play/Pause' image. What sort of command/script could be used to alternate betweemn Play & Pause in, say, AmigaAMP?

Is it possible to check the current status of the player & execute the opposing REXX command?

Another thought along these lines is to skip tracks on more than one player. or example: When the 'Next' button is pressed, AllKeys runs the necessary REXX command (As it is now) but it also runs a 'Next' command for TuneNet. With this, whatever player I'm using (How about a version of MPlayer with AREXX support ), the skip, play, stop & volume controls will still work.

FuZion.

Note: Thinking about this more, basically what I'm asking with the second one is if it's possible to run more than one command on a single key.
