| Thanks for the updates
I've now got AllKeys set up with IBrowse, YAM, Calculator, RDesktop & AmigaAMP buttons as well as REXX control over AmigaAMP to Play, Stop, Next, Previous & Volume controls.
I've actually got unused keys now
I have a cordless Logitech mouse that has zillions of buttons. It has the usual 3 buttons, the middle of which is also a scroll wheel, the scroll wheel clicks left & right too, a "Media" button, Play/Pause, Up/Down, Next/Previous & 2 other buttons on the side. AllKeys now recognises all 3 main buttons, the scroll wheel & the 2 other buttons on the side. Now if you were able to read the other 8 buttons this mouse could become a very useful remote control. Monitor off, music playing... Nice
FuZion.
PS. Before anyone says it, no all those buttons aren't intrusive. They're quite small, flat & accidental pressings isn't an issue Last edited by FuZion on 16-Mar-2006 at 12:18 AM.

| My compliments! Specially for joinSplitter. It's the best of its kind. I still prefer Lupe over ZoomIt, because it is much faster. Maybe the cause is MUI or unoptimized code? _________________ Amiga 1200+BPPC+BVision

| Allkeys is simply great for OS4! I have setup most of my buttons on my logitech keyboard now to do various tasks ;)
I wonder if you can take one of the buttons on the keyboard or mouse and make it translate into control+p for instance. Very handy if you're browsing for a file in a requester. _________________ 0 % Amiga. www.amigabounty.net

Yes you can
I have LMB+5thMB translated into Ctrl+v = paste. I also have two very handy XKEYs (multimedia-keys) translated into Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v. I have also translated my 4thMB to LAmiga+m = screenswapping. (Screenswapping can also be made my executing "ActivateWindow SCREENTOBACK" in a hotkey.) _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft.

AllKeys: Working very nicely for assigning commands to a few keys (still some keys on my keyboard not working though). However, the TRANSLATE function seems to have broken - even translating "a" to "s" does not work. AllKeys grabs the "a" key event as expected, but does not output the "s" key event as it should. This happens with all translates, not just that silly example.

AllKeys was VERY usefull! Only onr thing... Some day would you like to release a version (maybe 2.0) with a complete GUI to config that? With some action just defined an so on... That would be a MUST!

There seems to be s bug: TRANSLATE requires the clsss to be explicitly set: (he, I can't write s, I mean lowercase A )
TRANSLATE=$80000021,RAWKEY
It should default to RAWKEY but apparently it doesn't...

Yes, that is planned for the next version. Or perhaps the very next version which will be release very soon, but later... _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft.

I don't suppose you know if it's possible to have a 'smart' function assigned to a key. To elaborate: My 'Play' key on my keyboard has a 'Play/Pause' image. What sort of command/script could be used to alternate betweemn Play & Pause in, say, AmigaAMP?
Is it possible to check the current status of the player & execute the opposing REXX command?
Another thought along these lines is to skip tracks on more than one player. or example: When the 'Next' button is pressed, AllKeys runs the necessary REXX command (As it is now) but it also runs a 'Next' command for TuneNet. With this, whatever player I'm using (How about a version of MPlayer with AREXX support ), the skip, play, stop & volume controls will still work.
FuZion.
Note: Thinking about this more, basically what I'm asking with the second one is if it's possible to run more than one command on a single key. |
