People, if you use the software, please consider giving something, even a few dollars, as a sign of support. There are a lot of projects, even YAM, that seem to barely break $100 in TOTAL donations, while people use the software for literally years.. _________________ Are we not done with the same silly arguments and flames yet??!

| IMHO all those "need to have" softwares should be shareware. Many small "donations" will always be bigger than the freely donated sum.
Set 5¤ as the general "price tag" for those free software and they would get atleast 500 registrations. Then all updates could be free until a major release is made when they ask for another 5¤ for the update. IMHO 5¤ wouldn't be an excessive amount for YAM, would it?
I have recently regged Epistula and Frying Pan. Before that I regged DVPlayer. These three are the OS4 softwares I have payed for. I have a bought/registered copy of IBrowse, MUI and lot of the 68k internet software (although never use most of those anymore).
I will start to donate to a couple of important programs (for me) in the near future. Like E-UAE, SFS, RDesktop, JavaVM and a couple more.
@wegster
You guys would mind setting upp a donation page for AmigaOS softwares here on AW? To make it easier to do this and also to get reminded _________________ /Harry

| Thank you to everyone who has donated! So far we have a total of 17 donations. Not alot, but enough to start some new features in development...
They are or will be:
-"Connection bar" when in full screen mode -Error messages now in console window so they don't block the connection -Windows VISTA compatiblity -two bugs fixed: a CTRL-C crash and an AHI bug that could result in a GR -Speed optimizations (you will notice an improvment)
Separately there will be updates to the RDesktopGUI, but I am not asking for any donations for the GUI specifically, and most likely the updated GUI when ready will be available as a separate download. The new version of the GUI adds a "Public Screen" option to the list of available displays.
The people who have donated have already received 2 RDesktop binary updates via E-mail, so if you are using this program please consider making a donation-it keeps development at a steady pace. They money donated so far has already been given back to development effort - and the people who have donated can already see these improvments.
For existing people who want to use the software without donating, the version existing on http://www.hd-zone.com is sufficent.
Thanks again for your support!
PS - If you HAVE donated but haven't received the latest update, please send me a quick email: darrenhd@gmail.com _________________ AmigaOS 4.x Beta Tester - Classic Amiga enthusiast - http://www.hd-zone.com is my Amiga Blog, check it out!

Hi, just tested the latest exe you sent. Thanks btw
About the speed up, I rather feel it's slower than before?!? When I scroll Firefox web pages the screen stutters heavily, if I remember correctly it didn't stutter as much before. It seems like it runs out of buffer of some sort because when I scroll a small portion of the screen it lightning fast, almost real time but when I scroll a bigger chunk it stutters with the updates. _________________ /Harry

| By the way, the "Connection Bar" feature for Full Screen mode has been completed (complete with Animation just as it is in Windows XP)...it works in Hi or True colour screens! Really cool feature and it will make it much more comfortable for everyone to use Full Screen now...
I have just sent it out to all those who have donated! Thanks again for your support!!

| poweramiga: well that is wrong , i don't have a pc and i can use this.. as it is for connecting and overtaking a system remotely (ie over the internet or whatever) .. i tried it a few times over to denmark and usa , works good and it beats VNC hands down in terms of speed atleast. _________________ See my blog and collection website! . https://www.blog.amigaguru.com

Thanks for the fast bug fix of the "scrolling" problem. It seems mostly fixed now. The last little stutters probably are due to bandwidth rather than RDesktop I think.
Btw Why can't I pull down the RDesktop screen?
Also what is the connection bar for? Just to look at the IP you're connected to and for easy closing of RDesltop or what? Something more planned for the future?
Why can't the connection bar switch screens aswell? _________________ /Harry

The connection bar is part of the Windows client. It's very handy for flipping back to the workbench, iconifying a full screen, or disconnecting the screen). Also if you have multiple connections on full screens, it will remind you which computer you are connected to.
So we are just completing the functionality that exists in the "real" client from Microsoft. We are damn near close to doing that....especially with the next update coming out :) Stay tuned!
PS - I will check into the screen dragging the connection bar. Probably a technical limitation, though.

You can move the connection bar around by pressing CTRL and Left Amiga keys while moving the mouse :) _________________ AmigaOS 4.x Beta Tester - Classic Amiga enthusiast - http://www.hd-zone.com is my Amiga Blog, check it out!
