Miscellaneous News   Miscellaneous News : New Site and Shop - Cubic IDE
posted by dietmar on 26-May-2006 19:39:47 (2935 reads)
Welcome to my new website for Amiga developers: I have finally managed to open an internet online shop. The main attraction is Cubic IDE, integrated development system for AmigaOS and MorphOS. The site can be found here:

http://shop.dietmar-eilert.de

It is a preliminary site and will soon move to a dedicated domain. For now, it's in a corner of my private home page and server limitations do not permit to upload everything (ie. some links to files don't work yet - sorry).

@dietmar

This is a fantastic website. I haven't tried the IDE yet but the website alone is brilliant.

It would be great if this site gets linked from as many places as possible.

What would also be great would be an AROS version!

Will an AmigaOS 4.0 SDK be included in the Cubic IDE?

No idea. I have asked for permission but there was no reply so far.

@ jap

I think that altrough the SDK is free it cannot be redistributed. You will have to download it from Hyperion's site yourself.

I have the SDK, thanks. Actually I was hoping to be able to use SDK's gcc compiler through Cubic IDE.

Hi there,

Well, I think it's nice to see such a piece of soft. The only comment from me is
that the link for downloading de C+/+ addon can't be found... What's wrong?

Nicola

CubicIDE IS the best available Developing Environment for AMIGA (classic AMIGAOS/OS4/MorphOS).
This is my experience with this excellent made piece of software. I'm using the core of CubicIDE - GoldED - since near 12 years. From version to version the Editor became better and better. Now I'm a happy user of CubicIDE.
Who ever had worked seriously with GoldED knows ... there is no better editor available, and GoldED contains functions I've never seen in any other Editors/IDE's I've used.
examples:
- delete/insert colums from/in marked blocks
- block insert(paste) vertical at any place
- and million more ...

Many many Thanks
Dietmar for your incredible good and big work.

And the best of all:
measured against the possibilities of this program, the price is realy very low.

If anyone seriously want to write anything for AMIGAs (from AmigaGuides up to programs in different programming languages):
Buy CubicIDE, and you have all what you need (besides some tools like a autodocreader).

Kindly
Alfred

You can use the compiler from the SDK just fine. I'm doing that right now :)

I read somewhere on the forum that Dietmar wants to abandon any further Amiga development. Is that true?

@Toaks

He just said he was a little tired of the Amiga at this time and didn't feel like
doing much with it. Not that he would drop it totally.

I think Dietmar will fix any bugs mentioned if possible. Just that major new
stuff might be long way coming. But maybe Dietmar can comment further on
this?

To test, go to display configuration dialog and disable "custom font routines". Theoretically, this should not only enable anti-aliasing but allow the use of those weird Japanese patches, too.

I'm not yet convinced. I need more beta testers for the buy-now buttons.

dietmar:

i agree with you, every big project needs more than a handfull of testers , i'd say.. volunteer for testing and it may even fill that void on your shelf ..ok?

as for the AA stuff, i will look into it when i wake up today (been on nightshift so now im off to bed...grrr)
