Software News   Software News : Hollywood 2.0 update available
   posted by softwarefailure on 10-Jun-2006 19:48:59 (2745 reads)
A small update for Hollywood 2.0 is available now. This update fixes two bugs in the AmigaOS4 version of Hollywood. As all Hollywood versions are able to save native AmigaOS4 executables, users of Hollywood versions for other platforms (e.g. MorphOS or AmigaOS3) should install this update, too. The update can be downloaded from the Airsoft Softwair home page.

Has anyone tried both version 1.93 and version 2.0. I haven't got round to upgrading yet so I'm wondering how big an improvement version 2.0 is.

Hans

It is quite a dramatic update. You can check here for more info:
http://www.airsoftsoftwair.de/en/news.html

With antialiasing and alphachannel support, you can make your Hollywood presentations look very professional.

Using user defined functions instead of goto() and gosub(), and using intervals instead of checkevent() seemed a little weird at first, but now I MUCH prefer the new system. (The old way of doing things still works for compatibility purposes; but the new way is a lot nicer.) To make a long story short: The upgrade is well worth the money.

Thanks Andreas for the bugfix.
I hope we can see an AmigaOS 4 Version of the Hollywood designer soon.

@AmigaPapst: Hollywood Designer is already available for AmigaOS4. A native OS4 PPC version was released in March 2005.

I hope so too. Hollywood 2.0 is on my to buy list.

@softwarefailure

Are you working on an updated designer at the moment? Designer is a nice GUI, adding Hollywood 2.0 features would be a big boost.

Yeah, same here. Or at least a friend who has it so I can see it running.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

@SpotUP and Moxee

AmigaScrapbook
on OS4depot was made using Hollywood 2.0. You can try that to see a little of what you can do with Hollywood. Of course, having binary version of the demos that come with it would be better.
