| Isn't this just about the same that Olaf Barthel did some months ago?
Or what's the difference? _________________ /Harry

Just wondered if there is a way to do it the other way round! I have a Canon i560 (USB) connected to my G5 iMac and wondered if there is any way to use it with my AmigaOne whilst it's still connected?
I have Turboprint 7.60 installed and working on the AmigaOne.
My AmigaOne and G5 iMac are both connected to a router..... any ideas? _________________ SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card.

| Hi,
@sicky
the 68k ldp port work fine with the NetPar package from Aminet [68k too] ... So .. if your Mac accept the same protocol as ldp .. maybe ..

| Is Windows XP able to print to LPD printers? If so, is there anything special you need to do to get it working?
I'd like to be able to print from my laptop without having to plug the printer in and out all the time.

To print from your A1 to an LPD-enabled box try lpr_dev. On the Mac side you need to figure out how to enable the lpd server--Google should be able to help you there. _________________ ExecSG Team Lead

From the Microsoft support site it looks like you can and setup is easy. I'll try this when I get home.

| Hi,
@ssolie:
*hint*hint* .. maybe port the NetPar pakage to OS4 too I prefer netpar over ldr-dev .. with netpar i have a local spool dir ,if the network or/and printer unavailable and inform the user over this problem and send the print job later if the connection work again automatical.. [or after an reboot] And i can define several Unit configs with different host or/and printers.
And crate a user friendly GUI too

Thanks for the link. Following those instructions worked for me (printing from an XP box through my A1 printer). |

Good to hear that it works. I just hope that my printer's bidirectional printing feature doesn't get in the way when I try to set it up.
I've been wanting to be able to print from my laptop via my A1 for a while now and I'd given up as printing in the latest Samba version is broken. As the rest of my Samba setup is working fine, I didn't want to downgrade.
