| Wow
If ever there was an appropriate time to say the x86 word, this is it. (and I've refrained for ages...)
What are Amiga Inc's views on an x86 port? To whom would they grant a license for x86 and under what circumstances? What could (sympathetic) members of the community do to make this a reality?
I hope this Q & A turns out to be enlightening...

| You may want to post your question at Amiga.org since Wayne is collecting them to send to Amiga Inc. |

| is it just me or are there more people who don't give a **** about his answers untill results are seen ? If all the interviews he gave away past years came true, Amiga would have been the empire that commodore once was ...
None the less it can be interesting to see what comes out of it this time... If not it will be at least amusing. _________________ - Proud Member Of The Belgian Amigaclub Since 2003 -

| Yea! I can think of a few:
So we have a beautiful OS in OS 4, hardware is on the way, but I feel that the general morale of the Amiga community is pretty low at this moment. We feel abandond. Are there any plans to get morale up, if so, then how?
Why was AmigaAnywhere never made into an OS4 version? Seems that everyone that could really help build applications for AmigaDE is here, but yet again we are abandoned. If I have an AmigaOne, then what benifit would it be for me to buy AmigaAnywhere?
At this early stage, all we can attract to the Amiga are existing Amigans. How do you plan to get non-Amigans to give the Amiga platform a chance?
What are the chances of the Amiga getting some proper advertising? Living in the United States, I have never seen a single Amiga comercial throughout the entire Amigas history. I think this contributed more to the death of Commodore than anything else.
Has there been any communication with the new Commodore? Could a partnership exist between Amiga Inc. and Commodore?
What was the reason for Gary Hare abandoning the Amiga? Seems as though something didnt pan out the way he wanted. Just curious.
Any plans for an out of the box Amiga in the near future?
What is the reason for the long silence of Amiga Inc. ? Is it legal, or is it just waiting for the right time, or is it that the desktop Amiga means nothing to Amiga anymore? |

so I guess nobody should ask about AmigaOS and should focus on AmigaDE instead. Last edited by elwood on 31-Aug-2006 at 07:00 AM.

| Do you have any plans to port AmigaOS %x to AmigaAnywhere. It would let people run AmigaOS %x on both x86 and PPC computers, and then if they need to run more powerful apps they can buy an AmigaOne(clone?) with AmigaOS %x running in native mode. |

| Whats going to happen in the longrun ? Is OS4 going to be taken in house and DE ported to OS4 to become OS5, or is OS4 going to be taken in house and ported to VP to sit ontop of DE to become OS5? _________________ A1200T 603e 330Mhz - Mediator TX OS4.1 F.E. | There is no way that OS4 is going to be "ported" to AmigaAnywhere/VP, because (in it's current state) it simply isn't powerful/flexible enough. It would make far more sense to port AmigaAnywhere to OS4, although that would require that Amiga Inc actually had some money to spend (or more likely waste in their POV). _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. | Hi @Tony !
You may want to post your question at Amiga.org...
I never joined; I won't! Since I own an A1 and OS4, i really don't need don't need to do that. Why does it appear that Genisi & BBRV is more alive that Amiga Inc. ? Dead poets and AI share something in common -- dead! Wake me OS up somebody! _________________

I find that an interesting comment, considering the shift in politics and policies here which have allowed BBRV free reign to move in on AmigaWorld and use it for Genesi and Anti-AI propoganda. Isn't that why the mass exodus from Amiga.org was executed in the first place?
