@Tuxedo,
After some fidling with the Joysticks settings and swapping the Joystick in the config, Vice 1.19 works with USB Joystick on AmigaOS 4 via AmigaInput, but I was unable to get it working on v1.20, so I'd stick with 1.19. Playing Turrican 3 now...

I'm having trouble getting the keyboard controls to work for the "emulated joysticks".. both ports seem to do nothing. EDIT: I'm using the OS4 version.

I'm reverting back to 1.19 too for now. But dont lose heart, its probably an easy fix once you find out where the issue is!

Question: Is Amidog working with you with these Amiga ports?

So.. VICE is now available for pretty much every Amiga flavour out there, and these ports are official (so presumably the AmigaOS code is in the official repositry)?

Kick ass

Amidog and I are working together on the Amiga ports, he started the OS4 version and has more expertise and knowledge of the OS4 version than I do. I expanded his work to include the other ports and made more dialogs, more menu items working, introduced the locale support...etc

Any questions regarding the OS4 port would be better answered by Amidog, since he has more knowledge about that port than I do.

@xeron

Yes, the Amiga version are now part of the main-stream version of VICE, included in the source.

I'm one of the core developers of VICE and a former Amiga owner/coder (still am at heart), so I decided that it would be a good idea to merge the Amiga version into the main-stream version.

Yet another software announcement that has absolutely no mention of what this softwre does. From the link provided, I can tell it is an emulator. An emulator of what?

Who checks over these announcements anyway? Wake up!

Gee, that was really blunt and to the point. But, I also understand and feel your pain.

Yes true! Most people assume that all Amigans know every piece of software for our platform.
This is of course not true. Atleast a short description and a link to its site should be minimum IMO.

Yes! My thought exactly!
Not even the homepage says what it is! One has to dig and look at the links to get any hint

Shape up people!

Still missing a WarpOS version, the 68k one is only usable on WinUAE or a very fast computer with e-UAE (not usable on a real 68k).

@Cass

Unless someone ports MUI (or Zune) to WOS, there wont be a WOS version as MUI can't be used with WOS AFAIK.

@STRICQ

I guess this should have been in the announcement:

Quote:
VICE is a program that runs on a Unix, MS-DOS, Win32, OS/2, Acorn RISC OS, BeOS, QNX 6.x, Amiga, GP2X or Mac OSX machine and executes programs intended for the old 8-bit computers. The current version emulates the C64, the C128, the VIC20, almost all PET models, the PLUS4 and the CBM-II (aka C610).
