Software News   Software News : Aros gets a boost from OSNews.com
posted by bugg on 13-Sep-2006 22:17:44 (1924 reads)
The AROS(Amiga Research Operating System) guys will be quite smug tonight in the knowlege that OSNews has released a glowing review of their Operating System which you all can read here.

They explain the history of the OS, improvements made over OS 3.1 and applications you can run on it. Its not all roses they do have a few bad points but not a bad review I must say.

Be sure to check it out.

Wow! Awsome article. If I could get the internet working on AROS and be able to surf the web and check email I'd probably use it a lot more.

Very interesting stuff there.

Back in my day, we didn't have water. We only had Oxygen & Hydrogen, & we'd just shove 'em together

from the article:

"a long-term viability of Amiga platform can only be resolved by a new, modern operating system and hardware which is within financial reach of all users. Closed OS and esoteric hardware in hands of a handful of small and struggling commercial ventures is a recipe for failure especially in such niche market, as we have seen over the past many years."

Makes me think why I even bother with current "commercial" alternatives... since there isn't a single word that is not true in it.
