posted by amipuzas on 5-Oct-2006 17:45:28 (3773 reads) |
Alarm clock ia a nice fullscreen clock, with extra features, and it´s updated again:
- Up to 6 alarms. - Configure custom MP3 file, for each alarm. - Posibility of random MP3 play from a selected directory. - Nuclear Power plant alarm MP3 file included. - Blanker activation posibility. - Auto Scale blanker pictures. - Use TTF antialiased fonts. - Save or load different alarm configurations. - Set transparency level between images and alarm clock, to have a nicer effect. - Set the time between images in slideshow (Blanker)
You can copy your own photos, images etc to the blanker drawer, and you will see it, in an slideshow, with transparency effect over the clock, really a nice effect to customize it.

| Works okay here running on OS3.9 on Amithlon, but when I click on the "Save" button I get error requester
"Cannot open reqtools.library ! File: despertador (current line: 556 - In function: StringRequest)"
Any ideas, I do have reqtools.library in Libs: ?
PS: Is there any way to run it in a window on Workbench? Last edited by sicky on 05-Oct-2006 at 08:45 PM.

| Still frells up here, and what idiot decided to put the quit button on the 'windiws' side? hmmmm?
Edit:
ok, using screens prefs to force and 800x600 or bigger screen curse the 'only see the top left corner' problem... Last edited by Severin on 05-Oct-2006 at 09:57 PM.

| Thanks for the update! Having the ability to pick the image dir and transparency is great.
Some problems:
It tries to use reqtools.library to save the settings, and that fails.
Reqtools isn't included with OS4, but even if the user installed it, it just can't work on OS4 without a glue file (reqtools.l.main) as the hollywood exe is PPC while the library is 68k.
It's possible to open PPC libs from 68k apps, but not the other way around unless a glue file is provided.
If someone could port the reqtools.library AROS backport from Aminet or at least create a glue file that would help, but ideally hollywood shouldn't use reqtools for OS4 compiles but requester.class from ReAction instead.
I was able to save the prefs by using the 68k version of Alarm Clock, but unlike the previous versions v1.5 runs really badly on OS4 (very slow, 100% cpu load) but at least it's a way to save the prefs.
In any case it saves the default settings when setting an alarm so that's not a show stopper.
Another issue is it's not possible to exit from the settings window without saving, there's no "Cancel" button and Esc doesn't work either.
Finally, the "windowed" tooltype doesn't work as expected, even though it does put the clock in a window, it still opens on its own screen. I presume that isn't the intended behavior.
Some suggestions: Replace the Load/Save/Quit buttons with a _Load/_Save/(About _?)/_Quit RMB menu as it looked much nicer without the buttons.
Make the filerequesters open in the drawers that are already specified in the settings for mp3 and images. _________________ AlexC's free OS4 software collection

| Hi amipuzas
sorry, the correct tooltype is not windowed is window.
I changed it to ASK to see the gfx switching was correct. It works fine at 1024x768x32. I think this proggy would be nice on it's own screen. Pull down WB screen to show off Amiga OS4! _________________
