Miscellaneous News   Miscellaneous News : Valhalla Games and Hobbies open again!
   posted by Reaps on 27-Oct-2006 11:55:50 (2690 reads)
This may be more relevant for those of us living in Australia and Western Australia in particular, but Doug Thorp's Valhalla Games and Hobbies is open again after two or more years in storage albeit in new premises! Why is this of any particular interest to Amiga freaks? Perhaps the fact that Valhalla has stock of many old Amiga software titles will interest you (new and used)?

Skip over to Valhalla Games and Hobbies for a look.

The Valhalla that I rememeber was a veritable Aladin's cave of neat and hard-to-come-by stuff and by the looks of things, it will be again. Doug is still slowly unpacking boxes and cataloguing things but the store is functioning.

The website is in need of an overhaul (best to use the Sitemap on the main page to get around), but the lists of items are still fairly accurate.

Good luck Doug!

@Kadenaa

Yeah, I was talking to Doug and he said thathe doesn't really have the captial at the moment for some advertising, so he is still relying on word of mouth.

The good thing about the new premisis is that you can park right out front! As for Wellington Street... well...

@Twin

Weren't you up in Geraldton a few years back?

Glad to see Valhalla back. Loved wandering through the old store in Wellington St, although I did get sticker shock on a few Amiga items there

What the feck are they doing to Wellington St ?

I used to sell newspapers on the corner of Wellington & william street (opposite the Royal Hotel) in the 70's.

Methinks a bout of Google Earth is imminent.

Anyway... Congrats getthe store up & running Doug.

Jeepers... that part of town looks a bit different now! The Wellington Street road works are to do with the improvement of Perth's public transport system - something about trains, tunnelling, etc. The old block where Valhalla was... is a huge hole in the ground... or it was, I've not checked in recent months.

Cheers!
