Software News   Software News : GNU make Tools Updated
posted by ssolie on 4-Nov-2006 23:39:03 (2803 reads)
You can find updated versions of make and gmake on OS4Depot.

The changes should help those of you porting software and the parallel make is also more reliable in error scenarios.

Here is a quick list of changes:
- fixed pattern substitution rules to work correctly when you have patterns like "$(LIBOBJECTS):%.o:%.c importinc" (thanks Thore Böckelmann)
- changed exit code to EXIT_FAILURE on fatal signal
- fixed break processing so the parent signals the child processes now (thanks Colin Wenzel)
- added custom __check_abort() to signal child processes from clib2 function calls
- added extra code to cleanup stray child processes at exit just in case
