   posted by wonea on 13-Dec-2006 22:59:13 (2186 reads)
The latest update for Aros (Amiga Research Operating System) has happen. As well as lots of improvements, bug fixes and application porting/creation. There is a PPC-hosted flavor available in download, for those people running a PPC installation of Linux. Initial support for Drag and Drop has been implemented in Wanderer (File manager).

The Aros homepage provides more details.

AROS stands for (Amiga Research Operating System) not replacement. So please don't give any unneeded potential flack from hardcore Amiga fans ok?

I also thought they had a PPC Linuxed hosted version out for some time? Unless they needed to iron out some bugs before it went official. But then again the whole policy behind AROS is it is always under developement, being tweaked and such, there is a reason for it being called a Research OS.

Yes, my mistake. Sorry about that, don't want to ruffle any feathers.

@wonea

It gave me a giggle though, and I think I'll be calling it that from now on.

That would be like returning to the past.
