Software News   Software News : DirectoryOpus 4.18 Amiga OS4 released!
posted by zerohero on 24-Dec-2006 0:42:36 (3398 reads)
Uddevalla - 24th December 2006

Version 4.18 of DirectoryOpus, the legendary filemanager for Amiga, is released. This version is for Amiga OS4 only (but does not need the final version though ). There has been lots of fixes and improvements in this version, see directory History/ inside the archive for most of the changes. Many thanks to the Opus4 ML for bugreports and support in general.

This release is available on Aminet: DirectoryOpus 4.18

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all, from me, Joachim Birging.

Thank you! At least that's something I can play with while I wait for OS4 final.

As I understand it, DOpus 4 development has forked. Theres zerohero's version for OS4, and I think itix is doing a MUI version of DOpus for MorphOS..... this is from memory. Maybe zerohero could confirm?

Waaaaaah. Sniff. Sob.
Get a grip man. Do a search for Opus4 on the Aminet and you will find a version for Morphos (v4.17) and 68k (v4.16). And I'm sure that I saw a screenshot of an Aros port somewhere.

For those of us with OS4 (like me), this is great news.

Hans

Personally, I would like to see a new 68k version. I gather the previous 68k maintainer lost the source code in a system crash.

That being said, an MUI version would be even better, if the news of a MorphOS port is true - perhaps AROS could also benefit, using Zune...then the whole thing could come full circle, back to 68k by way of Bernd's excellent AfA-OS.

Merry Christmas,
James
x

ps. Zerohero, please don't forget to update your MUI classes list website with the new NList release.

What? The guy is giving up his free time to develop for OS4 and providing free software and this is the thanks he gets!?

If you want an AROS/MOS version maybe you should put your money where your mouth is or go help out.

@zerohero

Thanks .

Serbia is not supported by paypal. But seriosly, will there be MOS or AROS version?

And a little flame throwing is no harm, we hadn't have one for 3-4 days, IB took all the topics
