After configuring, then restarting, I get "Atapi.device is not know and may cause errors".

In Settings, the "Export sessions as" selector is empty, and "Find DOS device" does nothing.

In Tracks / Data/Audio Tracks selecting anything causes "Assertion failed, reghook!=NULL, Occurence:Track.cpp Line 24" then crashes.

I tried to contact Tomasz before this release with questions about the program and registering, and got no reply

Which version is this? OS4? In that case, make sure there are not any 68K libraries relating to Fryingpan is left in your installation.

For example, I had the 68K version of expat2.library in LIBS:, but the correct version is the one in libs drawer under the fryingpan installation drawer.

Also, you should not use "atapi.device" as driver. It should be some kind of SCSI driver for classics and IDE driver for OS4, like a1ide.device or sii0680ide.device.

but it did come up with some error messages when I tried to add some folders to data/Audio tracks and crashed out the computer.

bad!

Multisession is not supported in this version yet. We have to wait another couple of weeks.

Can a small change be made in the OS4 install script?

The default drawer is set to sys:tools which no longer exists as standard on OS4 final, please change it to sys:utilities

I ran the installer in Expert mode, and I was able to choose the directory to install to.

I'd just ignore the warnings about Sil0680 being unknown and potentially harmful. I've been burning discs on Sil0680 for 2 years without problems.

Well done to the author for doing an OS4 native version. The 68k version ran fine, but its a nice token gesture!

EDIT: I've tried it out, and it seems to report half of the data thats actually in the project, and I cant erase my dvdrw, and it wont burn.. I'm off to email the author. I'm using the previous version for now.

From the readme:
Quote:
NEW FUNCTIONALITIES AND BEHAVIOUR:
- USE "Prepare Disc For Write" to make a rewritable (but not overwritable) disc ready for writing. Use Blank (erase) or Format *only if you know what they are meant for.

EDIT2: Ahh I'm burning just fine now!

@Firbodi

I'm using a classic (see sig). Since posting I've tried stuff out despite the error message, and answered one of my own questions. Demo limitation is - drumroll - no real burning, test mode only. And lowest speed setting. I know it says this on the website, but different version and all...

I tried Stephen_Robinson's way of just adding a Directory to the ISO builder and burning. Disk preparation and burning seemed to go fine (test mode) but veeeery slow (demo limit?)

About Atapi.device - why not? my drive is mounted as this not SCSI.

Cheers

EDIT - Ah, my sig's not showing...
EDIT - Ah, NOBODY's sig's are showing...

@lurkist

Sig's are never shown in news, only in the forum.

Click me for the picture

Thats how it looks here anyway, just like always infact though 0.41 had more stuff like led's etc.

Images in threads: Images embedded in threads should be no wider than 640 pixels, larger images should be hyperlinked.

Small point, but you can get rid of the rather pointless text lables below the icons by pressing the right mouse button while over the top of them.

@Stephen_Robinson

You should really. I think Frying Pan is using toolbar.mcc. Try checking the prefs
for it in MUI settings.

Yes i talked to him and he finally got some time to update his page. People can register now directly to him which means no middle hands :)
I just wonder about his email. I believe the nospam should be removed but not sure. Ill contact him and check and write here later on.

Oh dear, I've sent my payment to the exact address on the page, no response yet or "mail could not be delivered" type message.

Although I've been getting tons of "undelivered message" spam recently so it might have slipped through...

That does make sense though, he could have a condition set up which filters the "nospam" part to eliminate bots etc.

Heh, I wonder how many genuine payments are lying unclaimed in his spam bin?

I can confirm that is correct, remove the "nospam." and you have the correct e-mail address, I have been in contact with Tomasz and have paid via PayPal to register FryingPan
