Will this be *the* Linux distro, or will there be others as well?

The CruxPPC Team has been great for the EFIKA (EFIKA Neapolitan) and before for the ODW. The original CruxPPC Team attended EuroSNDF in 2004.

We have really appreciated their support!

They will be of great assistance to ACube.

Congratulations!

I hope this directly leads to closing a large sale as well. No point in having a bunch of operating systems available for some piece of h/w if you can't sell it to anybody in quantities worth mentioning now is there...

I think that the people who buys a sam mobo wouldn't buy it for linux, for that there is other platforms so this item has little or no relation with amiga.
Just my two cents.

Well, if they sell zero boards with Linux, they can close right away.
So yes, we are concerned by this announcement.

@Cool_amigaN
Linux sells there hardware, you can’t sell any hardware whit an OS, they need Linux sales as well.

There is no official deal that AmigaOS4 is going to be ported to this product yet, Hyperion can not port AmigaOS4 to the platform unless they are allowed to do so, or have the right to do so.

Linux on a PPC-board that I can't even buy at the moment and that will probably never run OS4, great.
Hmm, there wasn't any demonstration of SAM yet where the board was shown running. The only thing we got to see were some boring Uboot-logs and memory-tests.

@_ThEcRoW

The main people who will buy the sam440 will be industrial customers looking to put the board in embedded devices, therefore Linux is a must.
