Announcement   Announcement : Compuquick to get XE's in 12 days
posted by Paul on 9-Apr-2003 2:36:55 (2094 reads)
In an announcement, Compuquick Media Center said it expects to receive its shipment of XE AOne's in about 12 days, shipping orders to those who ordered bare boards first.

Great news for those of us who are waiting!

So in just another two weeks .

Seriously, although the boards are finally begining to ship, it must be frustrating as hell for the wait.

As my wife has so kindly pointed out, "Are those 12 consecutive days?" She is so supportive...

I've been dealing with Randhir for many years so I am confident that if he says 12 days he means it. I'll be watching ye ol' credit card account to know when they've shipped from Eyetech.

It has been so long since Dec. 31, 2002 (the original due date). But the nice thing about waiting is all the free upgrades to the G4-XE along the way. They got rid of the barnacles, upgraded Atricia, added L3 cache and I believe (unconfirmed) that they also fixed the non-standard IDE connector. Eyetech even found a way to have all the boards tested in one big batch so no waiting for final test.

Now we just need a copy of the AmigaOS 4.0 CD-ROM to go with it. Come on Hyperion!
