Very cool.

I can only imagine what effects will be achieved by clever
programmers using alpha-channels and other additions in
AmiDock. The application library is also much needed -
Particularily Windows suck in the
annoying-requesters-in-the-middle-the-game category.
And the screensaver was pointless for me in AOS3.9 since
I had to turn it off for certain applications (not to mention
taking up precious memory ).

I can see many interesting things coming from
programmers being able to access preferences through
application.library. The only risk is perhaps that the
programmer might eventually make programs too "smart"
when deciding your setup - lessening the user's ability to
influence ... Heh, let's see the OS first before worrying
about that huh?

Yeah, application.library sounds like a nice addition to the OS. Even though they didn't release all of the previous issue of CAM, I'm glad that they are releasing the important parts for everyone else to read. The OS4 stuff is the most important part to me, anyway.

What screensaver? Do you mean "Blanker"? Or have I missed something?

There is a 24bit screensaver option distributed with
AOS3.9. Plenty of cool imagery and moving pictures of
Ben Hermans playing socker with the Frieden brothers to
run in the background of open windows. Didn't you know?

... No, I'm talking about Blanker. And some third-party
screensavers I've tried over the years. Sorry.

I think it's wery good idea to add XML support to AmigaOS. I have learned XML at school and I have already used expat.library in my own project. But it's good that XML will be part of the OS. Application.library sounds good too.

Very nice screenshots ...

I think it was a good idea to release it to the general "Amiga" community for their perusal and comment. Perhaps other articles will also be released soon.

It would be nice if they brought back the scroll-wheel capability in AmiDock...
