Software News : TeamAROS Bounty: Port AROS To x86_64 Completed

Dr. Michal Schulz has once again completed another major TeamAROS Bounty, AROS x86_64 (aka AROS64). Although this was a very limited port do to ground breaking new territory for AROS, AROS64 enjoys limited memory protection and grub loaded modules. Future developement will include a brand new kernel as well as many new features.
With AROS64 now in the AROS SVN, Dr. Schulz will begin building his core developer team that will port the rest of the AROS32 code to 64 bit.
Expect nightly builds to begin shortly and appear on aros.org.

So, will it run faster in that case on the same hardware ?
Will it have more possiblities ?
I have a amd64 over here, and windwows runs like #### as it always have done. Would a 64bit version of XP run faster ?
Do both OS'es 'react' the same to a 64bit processor ?

your correct, the CPU does not run on a different clock frequency, it takes about same amount time to process code, but you have wider bus, so you should be able to copy more data faster.
so the answer is yes and no, for some tasks its better.

AMD64’s interconnect bus widths remains the same in X64 and IA-32 modes.
