| How long to get one of the RGB encoders? Are they available now? _________________ Sent from my Quantum Computer.

| There are 2 RGB encoders in stock. Additional quantities will take a few weeks for parts to arrive.
I want to be clear that these do not output HD signals (of course), they encode the existing 15-khz signal to work on the newer televisions which have the RGB component input. It certainly is a great way to preserve an RGB signal instead of going to composite. I've not seen them in action, but will be buying one myself sometime to try out. - Lars _________________ http://www.hostcove.com http://www.youtube.com/hostcove Sam460 : X1000 : X5000

| Any pricing info estimates? I'd love to get my 4000 back up and running again. It won't boot, all I get is a black screen. Except when I pull the Chip RAM, then I occasionally get a 'green' screen... Well I think it was green. It's been a while since I futzed with it. | I have 2 A4000 motherboards that were repaired by him. Both had sound output repaired and one had the clock replaced. He has the original Commodore Amiga diagnostic hardware and has reasonable repair pricing. Back when I had my mobos repaired he had a number of refurbished A3000 boards, but that was several years ago. _________________ X1000 with 2GB memory & OS4.1FE

| @Xenic Thanks for the information about your experience.
@ShadesOfGrey The motherboard repair costs vary from $50 to $200 plus shipping costs. I sent him a motherboard before thatt cost around $100 to repair. I sent another one this week and he fixed a simple audio chip for $50. When it's shipped back to me, it's going into an Elbox tower with CyperPPC and OS4. Yay! - Lars _________________ http://www.hostcove.com http://www.youtube.com/hostcove Sam460 : X1000 : X5000

| But the Amiga RGB port IS 3-way RGB component output. Has screens suddenly started coming with sync-on-green again, or is it really YPrPb we're talking about here? _________________ This weeks pet peeve: Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). | $125 is a bit darn steep, but by RGB do you mean component? as in those Red, Green and Blue connectors on the back of DVD players and TV's?
if so this is awesome! I want one! you can get HD through the Amiga, just put the Amiga in Superhires mode (1440 x 480) and put the TV in widescreen mode.
this is with AGA |

| What about 4000T motherboards? Does he repair those also? _________________ "Space Mountain might be the oldest ride in the park, but it still has one of the longest lines!" - Ric Flair
