| great "news"! go discreetfx, go!:) it was a great read, i liked the windows part the best:)))
anyway i have to point it out, that it wont be the first time for morphos to have a native 3d software. blender is already running on morphos. and its professional too. nevermind.
thanks for your efforts for the amiga-scene!
happy x-mas Bill P.! |

| I know about Blender, Aladdin 4D is a commercial & native PowerPC 3D software first for MorphOS. The next version of course. The big question is when and if the next version of MorphOS will be coming out.

| Sounds great, Bill. I hope you can bring it up to speed for those of us who arent on OS3 any longer. EDIT: I'm not really a gfx person, or a person that buys software just to support developers, but this is one program I'd buy just to support the developer. And maybe I could finally implement the spaceship fighting movie I always wanted to make. Last edited by jahc on 18-Dec-2007 at 04:13 AM.

| @discreetfx:
Congratulations, and thank you for having the courage to take the reins!
I respectfully disagree with your opinion of Windows, but that market is pretty saturated anyway. It's probably a sound business decision to stay away for the time being. |

Very good news. I'm looking forward to the releases.

| Great! We appreciate the DiscreetFX efforts to bring new life to the OS4 software world. Just a question: can you rub the lamp and ask to the genie how to find out a way of this stupid trial? _________________ retired

| I shall be amazed if this is actually ported to a non-Amiga-like OS (such as OS X or Windows)... _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue...

| This sounds so unbelievable; investing money in dying amiga market? Damn, my C learning is definitelly going to amiga :)
I am interested; will new alladin4D have MUI or old GUI interface? Did you contact BBRV and tried to change the computer world, but in joint forces? They are amiga freaks like all of us :) _________________ May the force be with you...

This is not set in stone 100% but it will probably use MUI like the new Pagestream 5.0 Pro does. _________________ Sent from my Quantum Computer.

| The Amiga version of Lightwave stopped development and availability over 10 years ago I'm sad to report. _________________ Sent from my Quantum Computer.

Can you tell us why MorphOS *2.0* would be required for Aladdin 4D, please? Morphos is the only one that may not deserve a port because it's the only one to already fulfill Aladdin 4D requirements or what? And er, do you plan to develop (or complete) OpenGL for AROS and OS4 yourself? |

| Fab please don't read too much into that. Aladdin 4D will not require MorphOS 2.0. That was just a little jab from us since it is still not available. If you have version 1.4 and above it will work fine. _________________ Sent from my Quantum Computer.
