| 5 releases this year (+1 bugfix). Not bad, one has to applaud his efforts. _________________ AmigaOS or MorphOS on x86 would sell orders of magnitude more than the current, hardware-intensive solutions. And they'd go faster.-- D.Haynie

| Cool. It's all good, but what about those who don´t own a PeeCee like me? How can i have good Amiga emulation on my Mac (ppc)? Euae doesn't seem nowhere near WinUAE, quality wise.

| WinUAE updates are always a good thing and the "Sana2 compatible net device" sounds interesting.
I have to admit that I use winUAE more these days than my classic Amiga, partly as Commodore never made a laptop Amiga and partly as in recent years WinUAE is getting that good its hard to tell it apart from the real thing.
But now I have my copy of OS4 for my Classic Amiga I plan to use my classic to run OS4 and my PC's and WinUAE to play old games and run 68K applications at speeds my ageing BlizzardPPC 060 can only dream about. _________________ Sam440ep 667mhz, 512MB, 120GB 2.5" HD, OS4.1FE WinUae 3.0.0, OS 3.9, BB3, Catweasel MkIV Amiga 1200, Blizzard 040/40 (BlizzardPPC 060/200 with SCSI removed at present), mediatorSX pci, Voodoo3, PCI network card os 3.9BB2 4MB Minimig with ARM addon boar

Now I'm just waiting for a Blizzard PPC Emulation Tick box below the 040 Tick box so I can install AOS4 |
Not very likely.
Toni Wilen response about the ppc emulation in Winuae

PPC "Amigas" should have never existed. Amiga is dead and it should rest in peace (and kept as a nice hobby system like any other 80-90s computer) but no, it is kept in life support instead when its soul has been long gone/brain has been totally damaged and mutated (you can make your choice between brain/soul) Answer is still NO. I never add anything PPC specific to WinUAE. (of course I can't prevent others to fork it)

Not really because you need take in count of virtual memory emulation. |
Really? People still are taking about the speed thing?
I mean we are talking about emulating Blizzard PPC here, that run at what 166mhz, and a version of PPC that is pretty old compared to something like G3/G4?
My system is a couple years old now and it has 2 64 bit cores running at over 2ghz each. And that is tech thats "years" old now. Imagine "modern" hardware! I think 166mz isn't hard to come close to
Though it looks like it may not happen soon, we are not talking about trying to emulate G4s and run OS X 10.5 here _________________ A3000D (16mhz, 2MB Chip, 4MB Fast, SCSI (300+MB), SuperGen Genlock, Kick 3.1) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back in my day, we didn't have water. | It would be great if we had all those fancy features on the Amiga version of UAE, mostly the user interface stuff and jit would be very nice.
I do use WinUAE because it does what I want. I'm glad they fixed the super hires display modes. Although I haven't used the new version, that is listed as one of the fixes. I wonder if all the AGA graphics modes work now. _________________ X5000 / microA1(OS4.1 FE U2) / CodeBench / Imagine / Blender Lightwave 2019 / Microsoft Visual C++
