Software News   Software News : AROS gets Email client
posted by Pleng on 27-Jan-2008 16:26:27 (3593 reads)
Just found this at http://www.vmwaros.org/

This news is damn big! Michael Grunditz has just released a public beta version of SimpleMail Light 0.32, AROS' first email client. I have already downloaded and installed it on my VmwAROS test snapshot, and it works quite fine. Screenshot. It's still at beta stage, though, so there are some glitches that have to be fixed, however AROS has now a full email client, and this his an important step for its every-day use.

Visit http://www.vmwaros.org/ for more details and installation instructions

This + Traveller + UAE integration is making AROS look better and better.

Hollywood also runs on AROS, which gives it a completely self hosted development environment, also capable of producing AOS4, MOS and Wintel/Mac application.

I'm sure the next release of VmAROS will include simple mail as standard. Sweet.

Before anyone reports it, I fixed the broken screenshot link.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Thanks Michael, you're doing AROS a big favour.

If you are not running VmwAROS and want it for your native or hosted installation. Read this:

http://arosshow.blogspot.com/2008/01/simple-sam-frying-pan.html

Middle paragraph.
Michael is asking for it to be tested and needs testers.
