It's working great. Thanks VERY much
And if you want it to unarc 7z files upon a double-click of the file, the same as lha archives, do the following.
1. Go to SYS:Prefs/Env-Archive/Sys/ and locate def_archive. 2. Make a copy of def_archive and rename it to def_7z 3. Start DefIcons in Prefs and scroll down the filetypes to find "archive" and highlight it. 4. Click "Add" and change «new» to 7z 5. With the newly added 7z highlighted, under Actions click Add... MATCH 6. Highlight the new line that has been inserted and enter 7z into the Match: input box at the bottom of the window. 7. The new line should now show; MATCH 0 "7z" Case sensitive. 8. Click Save and it's done.
Reboot. |

| xadmaster.library 13.0. I copied the client to libs:xad, opened Voodoo-X and loaded OWB.7z. Then V-X tells me "Unknown file format: RAM:OWB.7z". The same goes for all the other 7z archives that I have. UnArc (OS3) even gives no message on loading the file but tells me "Error while reading the file RAM:OWB.7z" when I click the button "Start". Does it work for you? |

| xadmaster.library loads its clients when loaded for the first time. Did you reboot after you copied the client to libs:xad? _________________ Common sense - So rare it's almost like a super power

| OK, so you have to reboot after copying. Then it works. I expected an "avail flush" would do the job.
EDIT: Oh, and by the way: thanks for the good work and this new client. It makes handling of those archives a lot easier. Last edited by Sprocki on 29-Jan-2008 at 11:13 AM.

It works only if nothing else is keeping the library open, preventing it from being flushed from memory (f.e. if you have UnArc running or any other any other program that uses xadmaster.library or f.e. if you have diskimage.device mounted).
To see what libraries are currently loaded in memory as well as open counts you can use the "Ranger" program from OS4Depot. |

| Well, I sure know that all referring programs to a library have to be quitted before doing an avail flush. So did I and it didn't work, therefore my question. Ranger doesn't work with OS3 but Scout is a good helper for the same purpose. |

| Thanks Chris!
I've got to admit, I never heard of the 7zip format until uhh, a certain 'leaked ISO.' Where did this one come from/why/benefits? _________________ Are we not done with the same silly arguments and flames yet??!

Which ISO is that?
Information on the 7-Zip format can be found at http://www.7-zip.org
The main benefit is that the compression is generally much better than anything else.
