New WinAROS available
A new version of WinAROS is available. The virtual Harddisk is contains two partitions. A 100MB Partition with Fast File System (FFS), that contains only the Boot Files. And a 400MB Partition with Smart File System (SFS) that contains a fresh AROS setup.
This WinAros Version comes with a complete C/C++ Compiler Setup and Murks!-IDE. If you want to Install extras Apps, you can use
Update; WinAROS works fast, I have a quick play on Murk IDE. Needs an easy way to transfer files from host OS to client OS e.g. transfer some MP3 and BSD licenced cpp files.

Thanks, works very well here! I though something was borked but the problem was that the language in the system was German so my Y and Z-keys was changed which was pretty amusing ;)
Is there a easy way w/o network to pull out some files from the disk images btw. ?

I read that the windows port is at alpha stage. Is this speed normal?
WinAROS is not a Windows port of AROS. It is native AROS running in an emulated PC. Of course it is slow as a complete PC have to be emulated. If you want to see the real speed of AROS, boot your PC with the Live-CD

I didn´t tried WinAros but I installed the VMWareAROS and it is really fast even on my Athlon XP 2200 with 1GB ram in my XP system. I presume that WinAROS is more or less similar in speed and if in your PC works slow I think that something must be wrong in your computer configuration.

@Heinz Great, thanks for the information on that!
@emavys For me WinAros (which uses QEMU) is a lot faster than WMWareAROS which is a lot more jerky on my systems. I dunno if the QEMU-accelerator do some magic compare to other emulators but the difference is a lot.
Running the Linux-host version is damn much faster than any of the above and I think native installation wouldn't be less effective though.
