| Very cool!
This is the first I've heard of the Eee PC (pulls head out of sand). I see that it ships with Linux. Your guide looks as though it's using Windows. Did you install windows first or did you use the AmiKit Linux distro?
Thanks,

| You can get versions with XP now, plus a new version on the way that does 1024x800... |

| Yes, but the new version is more useful.
A lot of websites these days require 1024 wide screens as a minimum. So I welcome the new one. And it's only a little bit bigger because they just made better use of the lid.
I'm looking forward to the new Eee but I think I have to wait about 5 or 6 months before it will be available here at normal prices. _________________ AmigaOne-XE G3 OS 4. A4000 PPC A1200 PPC

| Even more websites don't work with Ibrowse, so this has to be a step up!

| the Icons look very big, but remember AFA have ability of realtime icon scale to a fixed size choosable in afa_prefs.This work for OS4 and PNG Icons in high quality and no measurable speedloss
so icons can make smaller for the small eepc display Last edited by bernd_afa on 26-Apr-2008 at 04:37 PM.

| It's running eeeXubuntu 7.10. It's still clocked down to 630MHz, because I haven't installed the kernel module that lets you clock it back up to 900MHz yet. It runs fine at 630MHz though! _________________

| I think Asus got it wrong this time with the new version.
£340 for an Asus eeePC? They should have dropped the 20GB SSD disk and offered it at a lower price.
For £340 you can get a better, much faster laptop.

| It is a little high, but there are many differing factors to the eee vs what else your money will get - form factor, battery life, SSD etc... |

| OK, so I just got my Eee PC yesterday and would like to install AmiKit. This is the four gig version with the standard Eee PC version of Linux installed. I don"t want to go Windows or even EeeXUbuntu. Is it still possible with the basic setup? |
