Hehe, nice underlining of his status ;)

Well, even though Mr. Buck probably did receive an authentic business card, it's quite evident that he used it to spread FUD and downright lies without any relation to reality.

I guess the world can finally see what kind of a guy he is in his public posts too.

It's really a shame that he's heading MorphOS/PegaS.O.S. Maybe it would have had a real future if things were different.

Oh well, rest in pieces. Eventually.

In order to be slightly on topic: it'll be interesting to hear what McEwen has to share with us. I have a gut feeling about what one of the things he'll be talking about will be, and it's a good one

I wonder what really happened between Garry Hare and Bill
Buck that lead to this ridiculous situation. I wonder if we'll
ever know. I'd say this is a very powerful statement by
AmigaInc and entirely the right thing to do. This should
convince all sides of the fence. No matter your agenda, you
cannot likely claim fleecy to be "out of the loop" when
confirmation of his words is posted on AInc:s corporate pages!

@Rayt:

"Great News!OS4->26July"

I wonder about how you have arrived to that conclusion.

I suppose because that's the date of Amiwest 2003 Bill
McEwen will attend. But I doubt we should read all that
much into this. This statement is really only put up so as to
in a not-so-subtle way make clear Bill McEwen is still CEO
of AmigaInc.

I guess this should FINALLY put the stupid "new CEO"-FUD to rest. Not that it will change anything. Buck's fanboys will probably defend him to death, claiming that this was a misunderstanding, and all AInc's fault anyway. Never mind the way Buck followed up with his statements about the investors "getting rid of" McEwen..."and now he's gone". The Brotherhood of Buck will find away to blame that part on either AInc, the Articia, or Ben Hermans. Or even possibly Mike Bouma.

Ah well, let's hope this at least opens *some* eyes. I have no doubt Buck genuinely wants to unite the Amiga community. It isn't by cooperating with the other players, though...

I think that there will be follow-up statement(s), that may sense?? maybe. Like Garry was thinking about becoming the CEO, ect. but I feel that BBRV tired to use whatever information they had for only one reason and for me that is the sad part of all this. I hope the best for Bill McEwen. Although hind sight is 20/20, I believe Bill has had his heart in the right place.

Glad to see they have acknowledged the current rumor. Subtle, yet to the point.

I'm not gonna get my hopes up here.

He's done a lot of shows, and they have all turned out the same.

I'll wait for the release of OS4, then we'll see what shows there are.

Let me know if anything interesting comes out of it.

A very, very nice comment from Bill McEwen.

Well done. Just enough of a response and I really hope Amiga Inc. are not going to say anymore about it!

Thumbs up here.

Well Amiga OS 4 might or might not sell then but a pretty good demo should be ready by then, I think.

Yes that statement was a perfect answer the the FUD of BB.Sadly it does not solve the implications for Gary Hare, or the damage this may have done to his reputation.

On another note I would not be surprised if OS4 was announced and ready for shipment at AmiWest. There has not been an executive update in quite some time and this usually preceedes something pretty major.

I really hope that OS4 is out before then. I believe that getting OS4 out earlier than the Release of the Peg II is vital for the platforms future success.
I think that quite a few of the people that have bought a Peg did so thinking that OS4 would never get released. What chance has the peg II got of selling if A1/OS4 has been out for several months and sold 3000 to 4000 units.

Discontinuing the Peg I was a tactical error (I know they might have been forced by Mai, But that was their fault anyway). If they could have had the Peg carrying on selling building a user base, things would be that much more difficult for all the Amiga guys.

Yes, I would like to see it too, but once OS4 is complete it will take time to get it on cd, print the manuals packaging and that kind of thing.Assuming it is completed by then, I would try to get delivery of OS4 to coincide with the announcement the OS4 has been released and make that announcement at a show like AmiWest.
A triple whammy: Its out, here is a great demonstration, and if you look in your mailbox it should be there kind of thing :)

I hope the "activity" is a new version of the AmigaDE (Amiga-Anywhere) SDK for Amiga developers. I am talking about buying a new version through a reseller (online/offline).

Maybe Hyperion will release an updated AmigaOS SDK soon so potential developers can start working out issues with new API calls, etc?

I also hope Amiga will update us on the "Party Pack" and "$50 coupon" deals.
