Higlights:

2. search within the collection
3. basic Last.FM client
4. cover download and display
5. playback of files and Last.FM streams via Tunenet

Grab it on OS4Depot.

Thanks to all who's involved,

AMuse, eh?

The same name as my nearest Amiga User's club AMUSE (AMiga Users Seattle Eastside).

Can't go wrong there.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

@all
BTW: there's a minor bugfix on the homepage (0.62.1)
(here, fixed link)

Funnily it played a whole day yesterday without a glitch until I stumbled on it today (after another day of playback)...
If someone find it useful, I update the stuff constantly.
Every bugfix is followed by another upload.

Hehe, I saw it when looked for the ambiguities of the name.
Just wanted something to be related to music and sound Amiga-like.

nice concept!

I'm getting a crash in the function getfilelist() when i start the program, (i suspect when it's doing an initial database creation?)

my A1 locks up shortly afterwards, unusual for an arexx scrip to do that, maybe the error is passing dud data to awnpipe:

I found the crash was because I had forgetten to set a pattern, once I added 'mp3' all worked okay.

I had to delete envarc:amuse before restarting though, because of the lockup mentioned above.

Second problrem, the last.fm username field is limited to 9 characters mine is 10 characters long, I had to edit the env variable by hand to set this.

I like the program as a whole though, I've been wanting this exact thing for some time, I started thinking about how to do myself but didn't have the time... so well done!

BTW if you want to check out my taste in music goto http://www.last.fm/user/broadblues

I can confirm it successfully scrobbled the track I listened with the hand edited user name, so it seems that only the input field is limited.

You're obviously not a last.fm user else you'd know

It means submitting details of the songs you've listened too to the last.fm website where they are added to yur profile to describe your musical taste, and and potentially allow you to find new music to your taste.

I found it a very annoying made up word at first but now it seems to have crept into my vocabulary as if it's allways been there.

[edit] spellings etc [/edit]

@broadblues

Thanks for the bug report. Adding the check for empty patterns list.
Sorry for the lockup though. But it isn't in the finction you mentioned, but in some bad data transfer somewhere.
Anyway, added the check and will upload the fixed asap (after checking the threads for more)

BTW: your recent playlist appears to be a hole in my music knowledge, will try to check these.

Jack

@broadblues

Thanks again, made username field 20 chars long
And will add a troubleshooting hint of cleaning up the envvars dir...
Glad you liked the app.
Keep the bug reports coming (at last there's someone who tests the last.fm functionality heavily)

Jack

Edit: snapshot with reported issues fixed and improved lastfm streaming is online (the link in post#5)

I wonder where could I find rexxtools.library which is necessary for AMuse. It seems that in my system installation does not exist.

@walkero

I think thats a typo in the docs, I don't think the rexxtools.library exists anywhere. I have a feeling you need the rexxreqtools.library (aminet). I have that installed & AMuse is working.
