Software News   Software News : New software releases by OnyxSoft
   posted by Deniil715 on 24-Jul-2008 17:30:41 (2911 reads)
Time for a bunch of updates from OnyxSoft.
We are releasing 5 software updates!

Updated programs:

Read more...

MultiRen v1.65 - (68k) Powerful multi-file renaming tool using MUI. Has plugin-support for MP3- and picture-renaming and more. Added the ability to see the total file size of all files; very useful when collecting many files from different directories to transfer to a limited storage such as a CD-R or MP3/USB stick to see that they fit. Fixed the custom textfile/script export a bit. Corrected and rewrote a couple of help bubbles, etc.

MPlayer-GUI v1.43 - (OS4) GUI for MPlayer. Named the MPlayer process "MPlayer main process" instead of "[New Process]". Added a few new video modes and removed some old. Also updated audio modes. Fixed the scroller in the Control Panel somewhat.

BackUp v1.60 - (68k) Backup program that mirrors a directory structure. BackUp finally handles links correctly in all possible ways I could think of! Reimplemented the option to create empty skip directories. More thorough cleaning. And there is more!

ZoomIT v0.3 - (MOS,AROS,OS4,68k) Magnifying glass program using MUI. AmigaOS4 native version. Wheel mouse support. ARexx-support. New settings options for start/quit, colour/grey, etc.

AmigaAMP-Prefs v1.25 - (68k) The prefs-editor for AmigaAMP. Updated Italian and French catalog courtecy of S. Hawamdeh and Philippe Ferrucci respectively. Added some stack for OS4. Some minor fixes.

As usual: Keep nagging about bugs or lack of features, and the more frequent the updates will come!

See the readme for each program for a complete changelog.

@Deniil715

Thanks for the new goodies Daniel.

btw-I quickly tested entered "-vf screenshot" in the argument list and Mplayer Leitmotiv still goes down like a champ.
RC2 is still fine with the same parameter.
I'm guessing Arexx stop for audio is still an issue, but I'll check that too.

When you get a minute, maybe you could describe the new modes added along with their purpose, old ones deleted and why, etc. Thanks.

All the best,

#6

@Deniil715
Thanks for the updates.

I have found a harmless bug in MPlayer-GUI:
If I drop a file over the GUI, the window is not refreshed correctly. I get grey boxes next to the "Key help"- and the "HTTP"-clicktab.gadget.

@number6

Do you mean that MPlayer crashes when you give the parameter -vf screeshot in the "additional parameters" field? I hardly think that is something I can do anything about.

The arexx/audio still needs to be fixed in MPlayer. The problem is that MPlayer initializes its arexx interface inside the video initialization. So when there is no video, there is no arexx. How stupid is that?!

Please go an pick on Andrea for this. I haven't got him to fix it yet...

@ZeroG

Oh! Well, yes, I can reproduce it. I'll see what I can do.

@All

Thankyou for your appreciation!

Perhaps I should relabel the MultiRen slogan from "powerful multi-file renaming tool" to "fulfeatured filename and comment management tool"..?
I actually use MultiRen more for managing my playlists that actual renaming I think.. It's just so good at dealing with filelists.
The latest addition with filesizes allows me to pick MP3s from everywhere, add to MultiRen, see the combined size (yes it supports a total size of 4GB+), enable and disable files in the list to optimize the room on the MP3 player.
Then sort or shuffle the list as I like, add a number series to "lock" the order of the files.
Then I either temporarely move-rename, or simply export the list as a textfile/script with copy command, execute it in a shell and have everything automatically copied to the MP3 player.

Anyone else done that?

@Templario

Does it work partially or not at all ?

I've compiled it under WinUAE (AForever+AmiKit).
Requirements are AOS 3.x + CGFX-API (works under P96 CGFX-emulation).

Can you send me a snoopdos-log and I can check what might be wrong ?

@Develin

Thank you for your help, but I can't send you a snapshot, because when I play in the icon of ZoomIt, is open a little window that quickly is closed, leave me a surprise face, but your other programs as AmigaAmpPrefs works very very fine, thank you for this program.
I use your program under WinUAE with OS 3.9 original, and with the last WinUAE and Picasso patches.

@Templario

I'm not the author of AmigaAMP-Prefs, Deniil is... Just to clarify that =)
Since you got AAMP-prefs running you obviusly have MUI installed which is required for ZoomIT aswell.

What I need is not a graphic snapshoot but a logfile which can tell me what stuff fails during execution on ZoomIT...

A good program to check what's loaded and what fails in the system is SnoopDOS.

Try start the program from shell and see if there is some error-messages there.
And if it's not and the program is running run exchange and see if the ZoomIT-commodity is presented, then you can show the window from there.

Also try following :

delete ZoomIT.prefs from ENV: and ENVARC:

Then re-run the application, if this fails let me know. Please send an email so I can
send you a debug-version so we can find whatever fails during start.

@Develin

Thank you for your help, already I have found the problem, I executed the program form shell, and ZoomIT worked very well, and I think in the possible problem, your icon was made from AfA_OS that is incompatible with PowerIcons, yeah, because I have a WinUAE with AfA_OS and other with PowerIcons, and I programming in AfA_OS with Hollywood and the executables when the program put the icon in PNG it works in this system but when I execute the same program in PowerIcons, well, is open a window, because appear one bug, the executables with AfA_OS in PowerIcons the open as a drawer instead of execute as an executable, and this was the problem, thank you for your help, and sorry for that I think in if before.

@Templario

Ahh, didn't think of that the icon is a PNG-image and doesn't work as normal icons.
Will try to remember that on next release (which should be pretty soon) =)

Thanks for hunting the problem down and good that it finaly worked out :)
