REALLY NICE!
Original news(in english) on:

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=452591

And seems really promising! Hope to see soon the test version!
And hope that it works on OS4 because the news speaks about 68k and gfx card...

Another Turrican related:
Anyone tryed Hurricane on Windows? It's really nice and playable and have a really good gfx!

@Tuxedo

I have had Hurrican for over a year now, having followed it's progress since stumbling across it sometime in 2003/4.

It is a brilliantly remade version of Turrican without being a direct clone of it, but gets very difficult very, very quickly.

Maybe Hurrican can be ported on AmigaOS4 ?
TWO Turrican clones was better than one!

Really?

Much higher than Turrican II though. Considering it's a game and it's on the Amiga - I think we need all the software we can get even if it isn't 1600x1200.

1600x1200 in bitmap gfx was REALLY a heavy amount of megabytes of gfx!!!!!

I have a feeling that it uses Direct X for hardware acceleration. It would be nice if a similar game engine existed for OS4.

Really good!

Turrican is one of the most popular games on Amiga like Agony or Shadow of the Beast!

Maybe Shurrican will work with E-UAE... to test it

I'm impatient to test it on my A1... maybe some surprise...

Nic

Cool, my Picasso IV has a new use! Great Looks good but a pic of some of the enemies would be good, half the game is what you got to fight against - does it have boss battles? I'll never forget the floating fist in Turrican 1, amazing boss. The fish was cool as well!

Even though I am not the developer, I might give you some information:
(hope XP is ok with this...)

It is programmed in Amiblitz3 and comes as 68K code.
Technically, it *should* run on all platforms that allow to execute 68K code, given they are fast enough. By "fast" I mean the GFX card performance, since most of the time is spend on rendering the GFX, CPU power is not such a concern.
That's why GFX card, and not AGA, even it runs there, but probably too slow to be playable. (ever seen a 256 Color Jump&Run in 640x480 on AGA? No? Guess why!)

The graphics are 24bit, but rendered to the screendepth. There are good chances that it will run on a Classic too.
To my opinion, it is a bit early for this project to appear in the news, but the developer is pretty fast. Let'S see what happens. He has my support.

For the critics:
For some people the only real thing is 320x200x5 with a copper list on an unexpanded A500, for some it needs to be 1600x1200x32 to be acceptable, including new composed music and a personally signed CD from Chris Hülbeck.
(for free, of course).
You can not design a game that works nice for such an extreme range of technical and personal specs. I think 640x480x24 is the perfect resolution to maintain some "old-school" flair without looking old fashioned, plus it works even on a classic Amiga, which is pretty cool I think, regarding that there are almost NO games in this Genre that provide those specs. Only some SDL ports, but hey, they are first of all no real Amiga developments and damn slow an a Classic, no technical challenge.
