Announcement   Announcement : ART Episode 32 - Bowling for Amiga OS
   posted by mike on 30-Sep-2008 14:22:55 (3168 reads)
Hosts: Rich Lawrence, Mike Blackburn, Bill Panagouleas, Eddie Cejvan

It’s all about Amiga OS 4.1 now available on the SAM 440 Mobo from ACube. We knew it was coming, so we dig a little deeper into what we think might have been the underlying reasons of why now and not earlier and also talk about some of the mixed comments we’ve read on some of the boards.

Plus the usual M$ and Amiga Inc. bashing. (Yeah, hard habit to break.)

Good talk -- think AmigaOS4.x should go into nettops...but need to act fast!

Is anyone else having trouble getting the streaming-audio version of the podcast to play properly? It always gets partway through the podcast, and then just stops. At first, it buffers a ways in advance of the start of the episode, and it continues adding to the buffer for awhile, but eventually the playback catches up with the buffer... and it just stops playing, and no more buffer-ahead happene. It just sits there, no matter how long I wait for ir to resume.

Also, I just went back to the previous episodes (I somehow left off downloading them around episide 5 or 6) to download them to my machine, but when I try to download the episode, I get the error:

Quote:

[...]ART_20070819.mp3 could not be saved, because the source-file could not be read.

Try again later, or contact the server administrator.

Are these available someplace else? Searching for the exact filename of the podcast episode (i.e. ART_20070819.mp3 ) yields nothing at Aminet.

Nevermind, it seems to have been a problem with my LAN.

edit: Oh, darnit... I still can't download the the things...

edit2: Well, at least playing the streaming version of the current episode now works smoothly. Whoodathunk moving this machine's ethernet connection from the switch up to the router would have fixed all my internet flakeyness issues?

@Nomad

Podomatic and Aminet has some of the older episodes. But if you need a specific one, let me know. I'll get it to you.
