Software News   Software News : WarpView 1.02 Released
   posted by COBRA on 17-Jan-2009 21:00:48 (2987 reads)
I'm happy to announce that WarpView 1.02 is now available for download and contains several bug fixes and improvements.

Changes in this version (v1.02):

- Fixed recursive directory scanning (did not work with file requesters)

- Fixed a bug which caused a lockup when pressing Enter on resize window

- Added progress bar for loading images which pops up after 1 second to
indicate that the image is still loading (except during slideshow)

- Added progress bar for scanning directory with 'Cancel' button to allow
the scanning to be stopped in case it takes too long
(read more)

- Added filename filtering based on file pattern to speed up directory
scanning

- Fixed append to work when only a directory is entered in file requester
with no files selected (now contents of directory will be appended)

- Fixed crop issues (numerical input with locked aspect didn't keep aspect,
selectbox motion was jerkey when mouse reached the sides of the screen)

- Added display of image number and total number of images to InfoLine

- Added fallback to Software Mode in case video memory is so low that Warp3D
Mode cannot work at all.

Excellent news.

I filled up the order form on Reg.Net, for 1 copy of WarpView.
Then I submitted the order and I didn't get a confirmation
page saying my order went through.

AmigaCycle: If you did not get a confirmation then it probably did not go through. You should drop them an EMail though to confirm.

From a quick play it seams very cool, but hardware mode dose not work correctly on my sam440ep.

If I enable warp3d mode the colours all turn mad rainbow colours.

@Dwyloc

That is due to a bug in the Warp3D driver on the Sam. If you change to 16-bit (by enabling the DEPTH=16 tooltype) then you will get correct colours.

@All in the meantime I released another version (v1.03) which fixes some nasty bugs that slipped into the 1.02 release, so if you downloaded 1.02, make sure you update to 1.03 instead, it's already on OS4Depot.

Maybe a moderator could put this information into the original news item? I don't think it's a good idea to make another news item for it.

@COBRA
Thanks for the quick response after waiting so long to get a sam440 I was feeling a bit nervous that I may have had a hardware problem as I dont have any other software that uses warp3d yet.

I have to say I am very impressed with WarpView and will register it when I get my next pay check.

Now for a feature request it would be nice to have the option of using a mouse click to move to the next picture.

@Dwyloc

Don't worry, the OS4.1 for Sam is still in beta state and some things (most notably Warp3D) are not 100% yet.

The problem with using mouse buttons for going to next image is that all of the mouse buttons are already occupied for other functions, Left=Scroll, Right=Menu, Middle=3D rotate. The only thing I could do is to switch to the next image when left mouse button is clicked but the picture is not zoomed in (e.g. there's nothing to scroll around in with the LMB). But in this case, if you are zoomed in, it would not be possible to go to the next picture with the left mouse button, so it'd be only a half solution...

What about the back and forward buttons on most USB mouse found on the side are they usable under OS4?

I was just thinking it would be nice to be able to control the picture from my cordless USB tracker ball or mouse if I connect my sam440 to my projector to show photo's.

@Dwyloc

I will have a look at what's available for that in the OS4 API.
