| I have an old parallel port sampler on my A4000... Could this be of any use (I mean, is there any support for old h/w on AOS4? I had some problems even using the joysticks !)? _________________ Ordell Robbie: Is she dead, yes or no? Louis: Pretty much.

If you have a classic Amiga (with a classic parallel port ) and an AHI driver that supports your sampler, then sure! Edit: I mean if you have OS4 for you classic A4k :)
Plugging it to the parallel port of an AmigaOne and hope for anything will probably not be very satisfactory I'm afraid. Last edited by Deniil715 on 17-Jun-2009 at 11:28 PM.

| In this case the measured response curve will be not only distorted by microphone frequency characteristic (which is by no mean flat), but also by noise introduced by 8-bit A/D converter in the sampler. The general problem with this application is that one has to measure microphone response first with some professional equipment, then it can be used with the program, assuming the program has possibility to account for microphone characteristic and to equalize it. _________________ Reggae · MorphOS Files · DigiBooster 3

And even then your results would depend on the location (room reflections). (assuming that the software is not using fancy algorithms to filter out the reflections from the measured signal) |

I know about all this, and it bugs me.
The next version will have the possibility to load an equalization curve to compensate. But right now, it's just fun seeing the difference between current speakers and different room positions and eq settings.
It doesn't have to meassure 100% accurately flat for this purpose. _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft.
