Looking to make a $1000, port this app and I will pay you. If the dead BeOs can have a port so can Amiga OS, spread the word.

Good luck to whoever start the project. There has been lots of talk, maybe now something will actually happen.

Maybe we could start a fund to add to the prize?!

$1000 is a good start but it would probably be shared among a number of developers.

if you look at the amiga.org archives, DaveP already had a working Mozilla port for 3.9 that he left aside because nobody seemed interested in helping him keeping the project alive. If I were DiscreetFX, I would contact him.

I would suggest that you have no idea how much work is involved.

In my opinion, an amount of more like $50,000 would be more appropriate.

No one have said the programmers should quit their jobs and concentrate all their time and energy on the porting.

It's just a nice bonus (and incentice to get started) for people interested in doing the job anyway. Efforts have allready been made before, a long time ago.

If we could have a fund with say 4K in it that would be a nice bonus .

And it's not like they would be doing the job for Bill, it would be for the Amiga, for the comunity!

@corwin
hmm... if I had known that I would have been more
than willing to help him with that.

of course depending on what he would need help with and so on.

sheesh why does one hear about such things too late

and as someone said money ain't the problem, hopefully some (it ain't a one man show in my opinion) will jump on this.

there is some trouble with the way mozilla is currently evolving so the best bet would be to port the 1.0 branch first (it's stable, but evolving and bla bla bla)

return 0;

Let me know where I should send the .exe and I'll forward my paypal account info so you can start the transfer.

Why just offer the cash to someone porting Mozilla? Why not just say "The first person to get a browser with GOOD support for DHTML, XHTML, CSS, and Flash". That way you are giving the IBrowse, AWeb and Voyager teams an incentive.
