   posted by Deniil715 on 2-Aug-2009 20:14:25 (3285 reads)
OnyxSoft is releasing four updates!

Annotate, CodeAudio, OnyxPrelude, MultiRen

Updated programs:
CodeAudio v3.01 - (68k) Full-featured GUI for MP3-encoders. Fixed a couple of bugs here and there in the tagging in the wizard among other things.

Annotate v2.6.3 - (OS4) A very comprehensive text editor with a lot of functions. Edited lines can have a different background color. Added PortablE as a syntax language. Fixed a couple of cut'n'paste problems with vertical selections. Some improvements in the syntax parser. Fixed a problem when loading MS-DOS files with CR+LF.

OnyxPrelude v1.2 - (68k) A comprehensive mixer for the Prelude soundcards using MUI and featuring arexx and editable hotkeys for all commands. Minor fixes and improvements.

MultiRen v1.68 - (68k) Powerful multi-file renaming tool using MUI. Has plugin-support for MP3-renaming and more. Fixed a few bugs in the FileCleaner tool.

Annotate and CodeAudio was released as auto-updates long ago but for those not using the auto update feature, here's the full release.

If you know a bug or have a suggestion, please don't hesitate to drop us an e-mail

Any chance of porting Annotate to AROS?
I would really like to use it to code PortablE.

@NovaBurst

Does AROS have ReAction (or a clone)?

Is there any cross-compiler for AROS I can use on OS4?

@Deniil715

No, it doesn't have ReAction. You would need to make it work with Zune (or: MUI), AROS operating system's GUI toolkit. Information here: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Aros/Developer/Porting_software

I don't know if there is any cross compiler hosted on OS4, but AmiDevCpp has them for Windows and then there is ZeroHero's cross-compilers found here: http://cross.zerohero.se/aros.html

@Deniil715
Also my way how compile os3/os4/mos software on aros: I just copy it to aros machine (vmware on winxp), then changes includes to right aros/gcc ones (pretty easy, just ckecked what can't be found and grep on it in include: direcroty). And in many cases it's enough.

But of course, reaction parts must be rewriting for zune.

@all

Well, on the other hand, Annotate is open source GPL so why don't someone else do it? I don't have a PC an no plans on getting one.

There is only one file containing ReAction AFAIR: tedRequesters.c.
Of course, MUI is application based and cannot work without an application AFAIK while RA works stand-alone so the input loop would have to be modified to turn Ann into a MUI app.

I'd be available to support anyone attempting a port. I would just like to keep the code generic to support both the current system and MUI just using different targets in the Makefile.

Bummer, well maybe someone will step up. I'll have to try and put the word out then.
I won't attempt it because I am involved with another project plus I suck at porting anyway.

I have plans to make an OS3 68k version first, and also a MUI version for MOS. Then the step to AROS is not long.
