hello,

interesting reading. Don't know deadwood is involved on mesa 3D also.

Maybe deadwood could help about mesa 3D working better on 68k classic amiga (with his knowledge or more) on this thread:

http://utilitybase.com/forum/index.php?action=vthread&forum=22&topic=1769&page=0

Also, I'm happy to read he has also the same point of view about poseidon who should be ported (or 68k used) for all the amigas/morphos/Aros (missing usb drivers FOR SAM/AONE/....°.

@thread
Interesting to read. Deadwood has done much to support Aros.
Thank you for that !

would be interesting to see it ported to 68k in comparizon to storm mesa3 + warp/wazp3d which occures to be partly broken (see above link). are the sources avaliable?

Yes, they are imported into the AROS repository so you can get them from here:

http://aros.sourceforge.net/download.php

The AROS Mesa currently uses only software rendering mode and the performace is not quite impresive even on 3.1Ghz CPU.

I like the deadwood's answers. They all looks mature and smart enough. Good that ppls in amiga community still can think.

And cool that mesa port are done (as i see today on aros-exec, glut and glu are added too). So, aros now have mesa.library with all the modern stuff, and anyone can easy port it to os4/mos/os3 if somebody will be in interest to make "clear" bridge for the latest opengl implementation.

Of course 3d hardware support still missing, and it's not so good.. but time will help :)

I downloaded the ISO on x86 and burned the live CD...

AWESOME ! the response is impressive... Despite the crash trying to run some tools.

I wish there were more programs available.

Thanks for the efforts,

Wajdy

@wajdy

If you liked Nightly Live CD, please try Icaros 1.1.3 distribution - it has many more applications

@kas1e
The mesa is still work in progress. I works in some cases, but the AROS driver is quite basic.

@wawa
Be warned that the current AROS driver works only in True Color mode - the codes for indexed mode are not there. Be sure to read the readme in the main source directory - it explains a certain feature that was needed for AROS and might or might not be needed for AmigaOS
