Following the earlier posting that Frogger was about to become OpenSource, the problem surrounding that decision has now been resolved, leaving development still securely with its original author.
The German distributors Fun Time World recently posted the following (in german):
»Development of Frogger ensured We are glad to infrom you that the development of the unique video player called Frogger has been ensured. After a exact examination of the licences there is no reason for publishing the program as Open Source. Only two codecs will not be contained as components of Frogger. These ones will be freely available on Internet. If we are allowed to deliver these codecs on our CDs have to be cleread but we cannot see any problems there. All orders which we have got we will handle during the next days. You may be looking forward to your registered version of Frogger. We would like to thank you for your confidence and the positive feedback we have got.«
The original statement about opensourcing frogger on the Frogger homepages has also been ammended to remove the OpenSource lines. |
