Not true. Its a joke about it. The joke being "its being worked on on Earth".
Sorry, but I don't want anyone else to lose 30 minutes of their lives if thats what they want to watch this for. _________________ Pegasos2 G3 running AOS 4.1 and MorphOS 2.0 Amikit user, tinkering with Icaros VM (AROS) EFIKA owner Amiga 1200

Why on earth would anyone listen to ART when they can watch Dolly and her two twins talk about IE 8 web slices? _________________ Sent from my Quantum Computer.

Yes! Not only no video, but the sound is very choppy.
I heard that you made some unkind remarks about Helgis and wanted to see for myself. The play was so bad I could not make heads or tails what was said. I just hope you did not stoop that low. _________________ Moxee AmigaOne X1000 AmigaOne XE G4 I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

ART is part news, part satire, part nonsense. We joke around but should not be taken seriously. Don't think we said anything unkind about Helgis though. We mentioned that he said he is starting his own magazine and that there are Amiga's in heaven. He said those things himself. Last edited by DiscreetFX on 15-Nov-2009 at 01:50 AM.

Well there were a couple of things going on there, mocking facial expressions from Mobby as Helgis audio was played. "Parroting" of Helgis' manner of speech from Mobby and the guest he had with him in person was another.
And there was an awareness of it perhaps going too far because then it was mentioned he is deaf, to which the guest said "now I feel like a -bleep-".
If thats what is needed to have "content" in this show thats pretty sad IMHO.
Personally I think you guys owe him an apology. Granted it was not necessarily overly nasty, but it certainly was not in good fun. It was you guys mocking him, and he is a co-member here with you guys. Last edited by fairlanefastback on 15-Nov-2009 at 02:25 AM. Last edited by fairlanefastback on 15-Nov-2009 at 02:22 AM.

I did not say anything bad about him and love his enthusiasm for Amiga. Maybe there are Amiga's in heaven. I have no idea but that would not be a bad thing. I also never knew he was deaf. Last edited by DiscreetFX on 15-Nov-2009 at 02:35 AM.

I had choppy sound and no video, but it did sound like mocking.
I'll keep trying to see if I can get it to play correctly.
LATER: OK, I finally got it to play correctly. I can deal with the way they talked about Helgis until they arrived at the discussion about the over-clocking. Then there were some pretty snide remarks along with a couple of rude hand jestures. Certainly nothing for them to be proud of. Last edited by Moxee on 15-Nov-2009 at 03:55 AM.

WRT item in bold why point that out? I don't get it. Even if they were mocking him it was done off site, or are you saying that AW.net's T+Cs applies internet wide?
@DiscreetFX
Listener feedback:
I've watched quite a few episodes of this and it just seems to be more and more an advertising vehicle for your business interests.
While Mobby has a voice and a clear capability for this kind of thing, the increasing number of tangents make it sound like you have all lost your way with the show.
You might say, ok, well don't tune in. The earlier shows were reasonably good with a tolerable mixture of commercial break and interesting content and repartee. The last few? Nah.
Tighten up the production a bit, get some more pertinent guests on to keep the dynamic from going stale. _________________ quis custodiet ipsos custard?

| As far as I am concerned, you can slag off and bitch about anyone you like, I don't really care, if it makes you feel better about yourself, makes you feel like a better human being by comparison, then by all means, go ahead and do it... just DO NOT bring it on THIS site, please and thank you.
So, no, the Moderation Staff here are NOT the 'Internet Police', however, we have say on what gets allowed on this site, it must fit within our site's T&Cs, if it doesn't, it will get removed.
As for the idea you guys mocked Helge, or anyone for that matter, and it *wasn't* in a private channel, or over PMs or in response to something Helge himself began... and it was for public distribution??? IMO, that's stooping low. On the other hand, if you guys actually had something interesting to talk about or discuss, how would you even FIND time to mock someone? But... there's the rub, I suppose. _________________ ¤¤ Official Hyperion Zealot ¤¤

As Yo mentioned a news item listing is content on this site. When this story was first submitted MobbyG even had listed his Helge bit in the show highlights. That was removed by whichever mod posted the news item for him.
Consider this. How would you feel if I went on Moo Bunny right now and posted something nasty about a family member of yours and then came back here and linked saying in public "hey squelch look what I said on Moo Bunny". What if others then started linking photoshoped images of certain members that were derogatory? We already have in the TOS rules about linking. For instance you can't link to porn.
The reason? Because you are using this site and its readership to promote a troll, one you just happen to host the insult itself on another server.
I think most folks would think we were doing a bad job if we allowed such baits/trolls. Because they are baits/trolls, with the the setup for them being on our site.Last edited by fairlanefastback on 18-Nov-2009 at 01:05 PM.

The LISTING is, other than that it is NOT content. You do not have editorial control nor rights over the linked content. You either choose to link to it or not, if you don't you explain why.

Which, as far as I am concerned is an appropriate response. Heaping criticism on them from the forum thread with your priviledged position of moderator doesn't seem appropriate to me.

Then DONT link. As for the scenario, that has already been done. You can remove the link,

Again, I can't fault your reasoning if you were to remove the link or the news item itself.
However, you are missing my point, despite my use of bold:
I don't think it is appropriate for you to use the reason of both being members of a public forum as a platform of criticism. It isn't pertinent. In fact you should, in my view, be talking direct to the guys involved and de-listing the item rather than using this public platform and flashing your moderator credentials over something you have no ... as I said ... moderator control over.
If you disapprove of the content, remove the link, the news item. But don't imply the TOS of this site has any bearing on how they should run their radio show. By doing so you are, as Yo also pointed out acting as the "internet police".
If you weren't implying that, you need to clarify, IMO. _________________ quis custodiet ipsos custard?
