The Amiga Future issue 82 (January/February 2010) has been released today.

In issue 82 you'll find reviews of AmigaOS 4 Update 1, Maniac Mansion - Day for the Tentacle, Space Shooter, Bordo, SimuTrans, The Mana World and much more. Furthermore there are interviews with Markus Weiß and Carlos Peris.

Besides lots of full versions and PD software we have the full versions of Scavenger 1, Scavenger 2, Maddog, Quasar Wars, Jelly o Chelly, Shroom, Gammon, Sneech, Piles o Tiles, Peg it Classic, 6th Sense, Samplitude, unreleased bonus material of Bernhard Aichinger and much more on the cover CD.

A more detailed description of content and some excerpts can be found at: http://www.amigafuture.de/kb.php?mode=article&k=3377

The Amiga Future is available as an English and German print magazine directly at the editorial office and some Amiga dealers like APC&TCP, Alinea, AmigaKit, ASB, GGS Data, Hast, Voxel, Samuli and Vesalia.
Of course we look for more dealers interested in adding the Amiga Future to their range of products.

If there are some Amiga dealers interested in offering the Amiga Future to their customers out there then please write us an email.

The Amiga Future is available as a single issue and subscription each with or without the cover CD.

Is the AmigaOS 4.1 Update 1 article about the forthcoming AmigaOS 4.1.1 ?

Still, i hope that someday AmigaFuture will be fully colored, not only the cover pages. Then i will subscribe to it for sure. Black and white looks pretty outdated.

@kas1e

For full color we need many, many more subscribers. i see there not really a chance for the future.

@AndreasM
Maybe indeed any bounty or kind, like "bounty for colored AmigaFuture" ?:) I am sure for full-colored , nice looking and interesting to read magazine on english will be more subscribers. Imho you can just increase the price for every number for making colored version. Like white&black version - one price, full colored version - other price. And just printed out the needet numbers. It is possible ? How much cose right now one issue of black&white AF ? Imho not so many, you can just increase it at 5 with no problems, and everyone will happy :)

a donation for every issue? and when dont get enough money we change the complete layout in b/w again?

not really a good way.

we talk here about some thousands Euro every year.

Not for every issue. Or it's better to find a sponsor or something.

> Maybe indeed any bounty or kind, like "bounty for colored AmigaFuture" ?:)

thats a really big bounty :) and start every issue or every year a new bounty?

> I am sure for full-colored , nice looking and interesting to read magazine on english will be more subscribers.

not only english. german too :)

sure, i would have the mag in full colors, too. but with a bounty? i think no chance. the only way what i see for full color is that we have more subscribers. but we need first more subscribers, than we can make full color.
BUT for this we need many, many more subscribers.

> Imho you can just increase the price for every number for making colored version. Like white&black version - one price, full colored version - other price.

you mean a b/w and a color version of every issue? no chance.

its cost many, many more money to print in offset (as example) 2x50 copies as 1x100 copies.

when we do this we must change the price for the mag without cd and p+p more as 10,- Euro.

> And just printed out the needet numbers.

we print every time only the needet numbers and a little more.

> It is possible ? How much cose right now one issue of black&white AF ? Imho not so many, you can just increase it at 5 with no problems, and everyone will happy :)

the cost price for us and the selling price for the mag are the same. only some cents differenz.

only 1 issue in color? why? i mean, only 1 issue in color dont really help.

and the change from b/w to color and back cost many work and time.

Sponsor. yes, my dream :) I start to search a Sponsor 10 years ago :)

I think the way forward is for everyone who wants to buy an X1000 should take out a subscriptions to amiga future also, therefore supporting the new hardware and supporting Amiga Future. If everyone who buys the X1000 takes out a subscription this would hopefully be enough for a colour Amiga Future

I hope the latest issue will be available soon from Amigakit.

I'm tempted to take out the annual subscription, feeling very Amiga rejuvenated this year.

@AndreasM

That's why we have not got our 4.1.1 yet.
Because you needed to get max sales for your mag!

Perhaps the rest of x1000 info is released after AFuture83 is printed (with the info).

AmigaKit will have it soon. I assume its been mailed to them today. For the last edition I seem to remember it was 4 or 5 days after release until they had it up for sale. I always enjoy recieving my copy of Amiga Future. Reminds me of the days Amiga Format used to drop through my parents letterbox every month.

Not for 1 issue Andreas. A general bounty, but anyway it seems an awful thinking. A bounty for a full-color AmigaFuture magazine... eh?

Anyway, there are a lot of sponsors out there, that they gave a lot of money in Amiga bounties, in marketing (someway though), or for Amiga in general.

Also, how much do you estimate to get for a sponsor per year, so that you can print the magazine in full-color?

@Amiga1200Mark

Nice dream :) I hope it. but without the x1000 we must have more subscriptions, too.

@Akiko

The package to Amigakit (and all other dealers) going out yesterday.

@KimmoK

> hat's why we have not got our 4.1.1 yet.

yes, was to late for the issue 82.

@Phantom

general bounty. ok. but what are when the money complete used? go back to black/white? start a new bounty?

i think is better for the future of the mag to do all that we have more subscriptions.

when you have a sponsor for us, give him our adress :)

@andreas
But it not possible for example just make it in full-color mode, and let's be it price as it can be. If it's 10eur per issue - let's be. 20 - let's be. Why not ? Only one live magazine, and for ppls who buy it, does not matter 1 euro, or 30 euro (imho). But that will give us a full-color magazine and maybe you can make some money on it too ..

Can you say for example, how much will cost full-colored issue 82 ? Let's say there is 50 subscribers (or how many you have for now? ). Then, if 50, how much will be cost full-color magazine ? Maybe difference indeed not important for making Black/White stuff.

yes, that say you. and say some other fans. but i hear it every day that the price are to high. special outside germany with the higher p+p.

dont know. dont have here the correct price. but we talk here about many hundret euros.

and dont forget. when we lose 50 subscribers to the color edition, we have a cost problem with the b/w edition.

how more copies we print from a issue, how cheaper is the printing.

color is a very nice dream. but at the moment no way.

we can look again when we get really more subscribers. baut at the moment i dont see any way :(

@adreas
Imho subscribers will subscribe to something already nice. I mean that "let's be more subscibers, and then we will make color issue" - that is imho not way too. Because it's 2 way problem: new users dislike B/W magazine, and you can't make color, because not many subscribers :)

Quote:

many hundret euros.

You talk about many hundret euros for ONE copy ? [ ]. If so, that indeed very high price for magazine. But to be honest, for now, i just can't understand something, because for me, it looks pretty easy - just use color printer. And one copy will cost not so many. But maybe you do something pretty different, and i can't detect other problems, but there (in russia), some ppls make some magazines just like that : color printer and no problems. They print any quanity of issue (related to current subscribers).
