| Well we speak often about our plans and so on but indirectly we are also working together... he works with all engergy on ATOM based systems and i go for powerfull things... and AMC works on Imica too... as Broadway does... This saves time and ressources and we both have the same overall goal -> supoorting AROS..... yeah and i'm always proclaming that x86 is the future (and trust me i have a tear in my eye but the ppc train reaches the dead end). Did someone read the Haynie Interview in the latest AmigaFuture??? He is sure that they would use x86 today... just a side note. _________________ AROS Broadway - AEROS - Aminux - AmiCloud - indieGO! Very nice interview! Good comments also Linux & Windows defects/handicaps regarding I/O handling etc... (AmigaOS3 still does some tiny bits better!)

Yes but the CPU options might be a bit different anyway, if Medhi Ali had not born.
IIRC Amiga5000 would have had two HPPA RISC processors. One handling the 3D acceleration in Hombre chip set and the other running the OS+SW (&68k emu). Also HP was hoping to be able to sell Hombre as 3D accelerated GFX card for PC world. It could have changed a lot. Or CBM would have died with PA RISC. Or the chip that CBM Amigas would be using might be still pretty good alternatives to x86.
But surely. CBM Amiga engineers would not have used PPC today, when the top of the line x86 chips are ~10x faster.
btw. I wish Hazy could be more active in our community... also, he might have nice ideas also for the dolphin-Amiga thingy... Last edited by KimmoK on 14-Jul-2010 at 12:47 PM.

| The best way to merge all 3 platforms is to make a common scripting language but make the language able to execute native binaries where extra speed is required.
give the language full system access but have it be interpretted (or JIT...or either/both)
Hollywood looks like the closest thing to this.
If all apps were written in Hollywood, they would run on all platforms. |

| see AMC.... wait for appbrowser ..... you are right ; )
well you need to have build for each OS. If you work right , you can achieve this with C too Last edited by phoenixkonsole on 15-Jul-2010 at 06:15 PM.
