Events   Events : Carl Sassenrath/ REBOL Technologies to attend AmiWest 2010
posted by ssolie on 11-Oct-2010 22:30:14 (5647 reads)
Carl Sassenrath, Amiga guru and REBOL designer, will be in attendance at AmiWest 2010. In the works is a version of REBOL 3 running on the Sam440 that Carl has in his possession. Carl is always a welcome visitor to AmiWest and we find it very fitting that he will be there to help us celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Amiga Era.

We always look forward to everything that Carl has to say and demonstrate as one of the most creative people in the computer technology world today. You won't want to miss the latest from Carl. Indeed, his attendance, along with his lovely wife Cindy, is another most compelling reason to come to AmiWest.

So be sure to come see the latest in Amiga hardware and software October 22-24, 2010 at the new Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95821. 916.923.1100. And watch this blog for breaking news of AmiWest 2010 as it happens! You don't want to miss it!

i sure hope so..
i'd like the brainstorming to be over for yesteryear 2004,
2006 bring some early experimental implementation
2009 first internal version ...
oh my blob, i think it will be announced as ready for general consumption at amiwest 2010 O_O!

hum, more seriously, so far i have to admit os4 is the only one trying to do such things.
(trying to push in the right direction , memory protection, and looking forward)
other ones are plainly just sticking to the holy grail os3.x backward compatibility..

it's just, i wish it would be already past that ..

A private meeting is being arranged where Trevor, Carl, Hans-Joerg, Thomas, Jens, Matt, etc. will have a chance to meet each other and discuss what is going on with the Amiga. Things are different when you meet a person face-to-face and you never know where it might lead.

Mr. Sassenrath probably looks like a novice compared to the twins knowledge. After all a LOT OF THINGS have happend to AOS since he worked on it.

I was helping Carl out one evening and he still remembers a heck of a lot. Much of the 3rd party tools have changed but the basics are all still there. Heck, Workbench hasn't changed much since they invented it LOL.

@moderators
You guys may as well change the news title to "REBOL Technologies to attend AmiWest 2010" since they were just confirmed as an exhibitor.

Hm, he is one of a few I'd like to see in person.
The others are Donald Knuth, Winston Churchill, Alan Turing, Alexander the Great and so ..
