| Sounds interesting. Any pictures? or screen grabs? or video/s? I think a nice document describing every model and pros and cons with picture illustrations is a necessity. _________________ Quote:

| I don't understand how you can screen grab or video network data, but i'm interested!
I've flashed my PCI card and awaiting a response from Neil. |

| Nice!
I doubt my Netgear MA401 is able to handle WPA though? Or is the encryption method not hardware related? |

From what I can tell, all of them can support WPA, and some of them WPA2. It's done in software. So I think, yes, your MA401 can probably do WPA with this device, but best to ask Neil.
All the prism2 cards i've seen are only 802.11b and before WPA existed (or before it was widespread). Though I just did a Google search now and saw some 802.11g prism2 cards? Hmm!
Looks like they were mistaken, check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PRISM_%28chipset%29 Last edited by MickJT on 28-May-2011 at 10:17 AM. Last edited by MickJT on 28-May-2011 at 10:16 AM. Last edited by MickJT on 28-May-2011 at 10:15 AM.

| I'll know soon. I've done the firmware update, and given him all the info, and asked several questions.
But hey, FYI, this is from the card AmigaKit sold me. I haven't peeled off the AmigaKit sticker to find out what was underneath, but I don't need to anyway.
AMIGAONE WIRELESS CARD MKII NETPCI001

XP 32bit, driver that works: 3Com 3CRDW696 Wireless LAN PCI Adapter
Prior to flashing:

PK010100.HEX SF010409.HEX
Primary Supplier Range=4..4 Modem Supplier Range=1..1 Controller Supplier Range=1..1 Station Supplier Range=1..9 Modem Actor Range=1..1 Controller Actor Range=1..1
After flashing, 1..9 changes to 1..12, and firmwares are PK010101.HEX and SF010704.HEX
MAC ID: 2 3842-based MAC
Product Part Number: WL360F Platform: 8013
I don't know if all cards that AmigaKit sell are identical.
More specs: http://www.wirelesslan.com.pl/items/instrukcje/WL-360F_SPEC_V01.1.pdf
The model WL-360F belongs to a bunch of different brands, GemTEK, SparkLAN, Intersil, etc.. Intersil make the chipset (now known as Conexant). Last edited by MickJT on 28-May-2011 at 11:40 AM. Last edited by MickJT on 28-May-2011 at 11:39 AM. Last edited by MickJT on 28-May-2011 at 11:37 AM.

| OK, i've got word back that AES is supported on WPA too (not just WPA2). .. I'm sounding like a bad poet. |

| @ChrisH
The PCI cards will work with both TKIP and AES if reflashed, but I can't guarantee what type their PCMCIA cards are.
@MickJT
The only 802.11g Prism II card (technically it's a Hermes II.5) I know of is a compact flash form factor card from LinkSys. I have one, but can't get it to work with prism2.device (and I can't even tell if the card is broken or not since it only has drivers for PocketPCs or something). |

| Having issues getting this to work on WPA/WPA2 (any encryption mode). Works on WEP, and only then if the SSID is not hidden.

| I managed to get it going with WPA2-AES with static IP only (DHCP does work with WEP though). Unable to connect to a hidden SSID still. Last edited by MickJT on 29-May-2011 at 08:23 AM.

| Hidden SSID is now working for me after receiving an update from Neil. Still have the incoming connections issue (no ping, no DHCP, and no incoming connections). |
