I'm glad you sorted your personal issues. Now get back to work!!!

BTW I'm posting this from IBrowse running under the latest Beta version of "Amiga Forever" through the AmiKit distro. Now that's what I want to see under AmigaOS4. No pressure then!

@Trevor

The easy way to make good integration of e-uae into amigaos4, its send amigaos4 machines to ol1, and give him thousand to port janus-uae to amigaos4 :)

@kas1e

Do you use UAE for something other than games? I think RunInUAE is sufficient for such purpose.

@pavlor
I personally not use UAE at all anymore, because have no interest in it :) As well as i not use any single 68k app anymore too :)

I have just 20 whdload games on my hdd which i use via gluae from saimo, and when all those aladdins, kidchaos, superstarduast, superfrog, slamtiltpinbal, chaosengine, ruffntable just start to works after i dbl-click on icons (and works fine on my peg2 with 1ghz), i just loose interest in it, just because its all in the past, and i not have any retro-feels anymore.

But, still, i sometime hope that someone someday will just make some resident binarys, which will fully handle aga/cia/paula , and so, any 68k binary will works over petunia+those hacks, to make all 68k demos/games works :) But i already know that its all just feteshism. Its really not important anymore if forget about retro/fetish and stuff

But its all my imho of course. Having JIT in euae will be still interesting , and many users still want it by their reassons :)

Exactly.

I on the other hand like classic games more than many newer titles (Gods and Chaos Engine are the best games of their kind; Heretic, Hexen and Doom represent fundaments of FPS genre; and of course Abandoned Places has its place in my heart). Only few games require JIT - like my beloved Ambermoon, AB3D2, SimCity2000 or Napalm.

@kas1e

I am not concerned about "launchers" but I would appreciate a good JIT as it would allow us to execute smoothly AGA 060 demos.

PS: I keep thinking than it's a pity that Rachy didn't contact Bernd Meyer as he would have gave him the sources of his PPC-JIT and Rachy's job would only have needed a few days to fix the FPU bug of Bernie's PPC-JIT. I am sure Rachy will do a great job although it's a pity he wants/has to reinvent the wheel :-/

Rachy wrote Petunia, so he already has the source code to a PPC-JIT.

@Hans

Petunia is written in PPC assembly not in C like Bernd Meyer's UAE PPC-JIT. The only thing remaining is fixing a small FPU bug but it seems egos are stronger than reason.

Is Bernie actually willing to make the source available? I've PM'd about it a couple times over the years and never got a response.

Use email. Most of people doesn't log in aw.net to check out their PMs but read email daily.

I don't have the moo bunny link at hand, sorry.

@Crumb

I know he was interested in some taking over the JIT for PowerPC.

Sometimes it’s faster to start over, then to try to find a well hidden bug in some one else’s code.

The UAE cpu emulation is not so easy to understand, I have looked at a few times, the code is generated and it’s hard to say what routine is what CPU instruction.
